Mortal Kombat 2 Game by Acclaim Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1994 Works with: None. **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: This was the first officially licensed Nintedo game that was full of blood and gore. Way to go, Nintendo! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Mortal Kombat 2 took the MK series to a new level. This is a level that it hasn't seen since. MK2 is quite simply a good game. It took everything that was good about MK and added more good things. This game was a step above even Street Fighter 2. It had lots of characters and lots of moves and some of the goriest fatalities. This game is also a blast to play with 2 players. Overall, this is one of the best SNES fighters ever. Liked: Great fighter action. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics were amazing at the time of it's release. The graphics still hold up pretty well today. The characters are very detailed and look great. The moves look very nice, as well. Liked: Good 2-D graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music is still pretty good. The sound fx are good, as well. The voices don't sound quite as clear as I had remembered them, but they're pretty good, too, Liked: Good music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: MK2 controls perfectly. The controls are easy and are very responsive. The only questionable thing about the controls is that fatalities are too tough to pull off. The game design is great. Liked: Good controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Nothing. RIYL: Other Mortal Kombat games, Virtua Fighter series. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Mortal Kombat 2 is a really cool game. It's the best MK ever. Umm...what else can I tell you about it? Did you know that the guy who plays Kung Lao, Ho Sung Pak, was in Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2? He was also one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the TMNT films. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
