Nightshade Game by Ultra Games Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1991 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I faintly remembered this game from years ago. I found it for a couple of bucks, so I bought it. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Nightshade is a cross between a point and click adventure game and a fighting game. The main thrust of the game is the adventure portion, but when you get near an enemy, the game switches to a on-on-one fighting game style. The presentation of this game is excellent. It's very comical and it's done in a comic book style. The game does tend to get boring, because there's very little clues to point you in the correct directions. Liked: Cool genre-busting action. Hated: Where are the clues? **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Nightshade has some excellent graphics for an NES game. The comic book style cinemas are excellent. The in-game graphics are nearly as good. Liked: Excellent graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Nightshade has some good music and sound fx. They're pretty much what you would expect, though. Liked: Good music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Nightshade controls well. The controls are very simple, but they're rather responsive. The game design is good, as well. Liked: Good controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: More obvious clues. RIYL: Shadowgate, Deja Vu **************************************************************************** Final Words: Nightshade is an excellent adventure/fighting game. This is a cool game and there's really no other game like it. Check it out. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
