Kid Niki: Radical Ninja Game by Data East Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1987 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Wouldn't the name Kid Niki have been enough? Why would they add Radical Ninja to it? **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Kid Niki is a sidescrolling hack 'n slash game. You move from left to right killing anything that moves. Kid Niki carries a pair of Nunchunks(or whatever they're called) that he uses to beat up on the non-radical ninjas. I guess they would be gnarly ninjas. Liked: Simple gameplay. Hated: Simple gameplay. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Kid Niki has some very cartoony graphics. Kid Niki and his cohorts are very small and not very detailed. The backgrounds are pastel colored. The graphics are different looking, which is good. Liked: Good graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Kid Niki sounds great. The music is very simple, but it's not annoying. The sound fx are good, as well. Liked: Good music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Kid Niki controls nicely. The controls are very responsive and extremely easy to learn. The game design is great. Liked: Easy controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Add something else to the gameplay. RIYL: Shinobi, Shadow Dancer. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Kid Niki is a decent little side scroller which is kinda fun in short bursts. This is no Zelda or Metroid, but it doesn't pretend to be. Enjoy this game for what it is. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 15 out of 25 Final Score: 60 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
