Opening Snide Remarks: I played the arcade version of OutRun once and I
thought that it was really cool. At the time it had some of the best
graphics that I had ever seen.

Gameplay Descripion: OutRun is a racing game where you have to beat the clock
to make it to the next checkpoint. You drive a car and if you hit anything
your car spins out. This gets old. It's just not very much fun anymore.
Liked: Driving a red sportscar.
Hated: Spinning out.

Graphics Description: OutRun features some very colorful graphics. The sky
even changes colors as you race. Your car looks cool and when you hit
something and your car flips over it looks awesome. The graphics look pretty
good today.
Liked: Lots of colors.
Hated: Nothing.

****************************************************************************

Sound/Music Description: OutRun was the first game that I knew of where you
could select which music you listened to as you race. The music is still
pretty good. The sound fx are decent.
Liked: Selectable music.
Hated: Nothing.

****************************************************************************

Play Control/Game Design: OutRun controls pretty well. The controls are
responsive and their very easy to learn. The game design is okay, but who
wants to race the clock?
Liked: Easy controls.
Hated: I have to race the clock???

****************************************************************************

Improve: Better graphics, race against opponents.

RIYL: Cruis'n USA

Final Words: OutRun is a dated racer that's just not all that fun to play
anymore. If you love retro-games, then you'll dig OutRun. Otherwise, look
elsewhere for a good racer.
