Q*Bert Game by Ultra Games Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1989 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I was never a huge fan of Q*Bert. I liked the original arcade game, but that was it. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: This version of Q*Bert plays exactly like the arcade version did. In case you never played the arcade version, the object of Q*Bert is to jump on all of the squares while avoiding the enemies. When you jump on a square the color of the square changes. You also can't really attack the enemies. This version is just as fun to play. Liked: Arcade perfect gameplay. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The NES version's graphics aren't quite as good as the original's but that's to be expected. The graphics are fine and do the job. Liked: Decent graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Q*Bert has some cool music. There's not a whole lot of it, though. The sound fx are good and are exactly like the arcade version. Liked: Arcade perfect sounds. Hated: None. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls of Q*Bert are fine if you change them from the defualts. Otherwise, they're extremely confusing. The game design is great, as this game is just as much fun to play as the arcade classic. Liked: Great game design. Hated: Having to fix the controls. **************************************************************************** Improve: Don't bother...This game is great. RIYL: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Q*Bert is an arcade classic and this NES version is just as good. If you don't already have a version of Q*Bert, then you should pick one up. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
