Quarantine Game by GameTek Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: 3DO Internal Memory Released: 1994 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: In this game, you get to drive around a cab in a post- apocalyptic world, killing anything that moves and you have to pick up fares. COOL!!! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: If you read the above section, then you know what the point of Quarantine is. You can run over pedestrians which throws buckets of blood all over your windshield, you can destroy other cars just for the fun of it, and you can destroy other cabs. The only problem with the gameplay is that there's really no quest. There's no reason to continue to play this game. I mean it's not like you have to beat a boss or something to go to level 2, it's just sort of random. But it is a lot of fun just to drive around and pick up fares. Liked: Killing anything that you want. Hated: Where's the quest? **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics in Quarantine are pretty good. The animation is somewhat choppy, but it doesn't interfere with the game. The cars look good as do the pedestrians. Overall, the graphics do their job. Liked: Lots of blood when you run over pedestrians. Hated: Choppy animation. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music in Quarantine is amazing. It features music by Australian alternative music bands. Before you get turnded off by this, all of the songs are great and you will be singing them for years. The musical styles change with each song-there's one song which sounds kind of like a Hole song, but the next kind of sounds like Beck. The sound fx are great, but I wish there were an option to turn them down or off, so that you could hear the music without interruptions. Liked: Awesome music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls of Quarantine are pretty good. There are 2 control schemes that you can pick from but neither one of them are prefect. The controls are responsive, though. The game design is good. The game is fun, but I wish that there was something to tell you how to get to the next level, instead of having to randomly look everywhere until you find it. Liked: Good controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: An updated N64 or Dreamcast version would rule!!! RIYL: Twisted Metal, Twisted Metal 2, Vigilante 8 **************************************************************************** Final Words: Quarantine is an awesome game. If you see it, buy it. This is one of the best reasons to own a 3DO. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 23 out of 25 Final Score: 92 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None Template courtesy of Philip Wesley.
