Scooby-Doo Mystery Game by Acclaim/Sunsoft Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: Password Released: 1995 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I thought that this was the SNES version of the Genesis adventure game of the same name. It's not, but it is a very cool game. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Scooby-Doo Mystery is a cool little adventure/side scroller. You walk around while trying to find clues to solve the mysteries. When you find a clue, you need to take it to Velma, she then will ponder the mystery's solution. When you have found enough clues to solve the mystery, you then need to build a trap to catch the bad guy. This gameplay variety is awesome. This game is really fun, but it's easy enough to get pretty far, but it's not too easy. You control Scoob & Shaggy and you have to avoid and beat certain enemies. Also, the conclusions of the mysteries are done in that inimitable Scooby-Doo style. Liked: Awesome gameplay. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: SDM looks great. The graphics are 2-D sprites that look just like the cartoon did. The backgrounds look nice, as well. Liked: Great graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: SDM sounds great. The music is of the typical spooky Scooby Doo type of music. The sound fx are pretty good, too. Liked: Great music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: SDM controls very nicely. The controls are simple and allow you to do lots of things. The game design is great. Liked: Great controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: A sequel with polygon graphics would be very cool. RIYL: Other Scooby-Doo games. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Scooby-Doo Mystery is an awesome game that never found an audience. It's a shame, too. It's a game that's great for kids and for us old farts that used to like Scooby-Doo when we were kids. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 24 out of 25 Final Score: 96 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
