Opening Snide Remarks: I played the demo of this game and was really 
impressed.  So I bought it.

Gameplay Description: NBA Shoot Out '97 is the best PSX basketball game that
I have ever played.  It plays a lot like Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside.  I 
haven't really played much of the NBA Live PSX series, though.  Anyways, it
has everything that you could want in a basketball game.  The only problem is
that the default controller settings seem wrong.  
Liked: Plays a great game of basketball.
Hated: Nothing.

Graphics Description: NBA Shoot Out '97 looks great.  The arenas look like 
they should, as do the NBA players.  The graphics are sharp and very 
colorful.  
Liked: The players look like they should.
Hated: Nothing.

Sound/Music Description: NBA Shoot Out has good music, but there's really not
much of it.  It 's really only played on menu screens.  The sound fx are 
great, as well.  The in-game sounds are perfect and the announcer calls every
NBA player's name when they score.  
Liked: The announcer calls every player's name. 
Hated: There's no play-by-play commentary.

Play Control/Game Design: NBA Shoot Out '97 has great design.  There's 
everything that you could want in a basketball game.  The controls are 
responsive, but the default controller settings are awkward.
Liked: Perfect controls.
Hated: Default setup is wrong.

Final Words: NBA Shoot Out is the best PSX basketball game that I have 
played.  If you want a basketball game for your Playstation, do yourself a 
favor and check this game out.
