Super Mario World Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: Battery-1 slot Released: 1991 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I didn't buy this game until years after I bought my SNES. I bought a used copy becuase it was a classic. I never really played this game as much as I should have. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Super Mario World is basically just more of the same. If you've played Super Mario Bros. 3 then you know what to expect. SMW is basically just more levels of SMB3 with better graphics. This game plays exactly the same as SMB3, except now you can carry an extra power-up. Other than that, this is basically the same Super Mario that you've played before. Liked: Classic Mario goodness. Hated: Hey, I played this game before....when it was called Super Mario 3. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics of SMW are pretty good. At some points in the game, there are some huge sprite enemies and obstacles. These are really cool. The characters and backgrounds are very colorful. Liked: Colorful graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: SMW features some classic songs. These are very good. The sound fx are basically the same sound fx that have been featured in Mario games for years. Liked: Good music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: SMW controls perfectly. What more would you expect from Nintendo? The controls are easy to learn and are super responsive. The game design is good, but I wish the game would have been a little more different from SMB3. Liked: Perfect controls. Hated: This is basically the same game as SMB3. **************************************************************************** Improve: Make it a little more different from SMB3. RIYL: Super Mario series, Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story. **************************************************************************** Final Words: If you've never played SMB3, then you will be amazed by SMW. If you have SMB3 already, you might want to pass on this one. It's a true classic, but it's way too similar for my tastes. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 23 out of 25 Final Score: 92 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
