Pokemon Snap Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: On Cartridge-1 slot Released: 1999 Works with: None **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I had heard that this game was rather short, but I still plunked down the $50 for it. Was that a wise decision? **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Pokemon Snap is basically a game where you take pictures of Pokemon. That's all. But this is a such a well executed idea that this game is just plain awesome. Taking the pictures is a blast and the way the levels are set up is excellent, as well. I was scared that you played every level in a row and just tried for a high score, but you have to meet certain criteria to open up the next level. This makes this game last a little longer. One small problem with this game is that not all 150 Pokemon are present. That's about my only problem with this game. After you have completed all of your goals, Professor Oak will give you Challenge Scores that you need to try to beat. Of course, you can also take better pictures of the Pokemon that you've already snapped. Liked: Perfect Gameplay. Hated: All 150 Pokemon aren't present. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: This game looks awesome. All of the Pokemon look nearly perfect. They look just like you would think that they would. The environments are nice, as well. This game moves fast and once you get the gas pedal thing for your ship, going down the rapids will give you a rush. Liked: Sweet graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: This game sounds great. The music is excellent and the sound fx are awesome. The Pokemon sound just like they do on the Pokemon television program. This game gets bonus points for the singing Jigglypuffs. Liked: Awesome sound fx. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Pokemon Snap controls perfectly. The controls are super easy and very responsive. The game design is great, but this game is rather short. If you're a Pokemaniac, though, you won't mind too much. Liked: Perfect controls. Hated: This game's a little too short. **************************************************************************** Improve: Make the sequel a little longer. RIYL: Pokemon Stadium(If it ever gets released in the USA), Pokemon Red, Blue, & the forthcoming Pokemon Yellow **************************************************************************** Final Words: Pokemon Snap is an awesome game, but it's a little short. But this game is so much fun that you probably won't mind it too much. You can always start over and try again or just try to improve your photo scores. This is a must buy for Pokemon fans, Pokemon haters stay away. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 25 out of 25 Final Score: 100 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
