Tarzan Game by Digital Eclipse, Disney Interactive and Activision (WOW!) Review by BigBadBar kummel@erols.com Size is 8 megabits Save by Password Released 1998 Works with Gameboy Color only and Gameboy Printer **************************************************************************** Opening Side remarks: Nintendo hyped up this game a lot. I was interested and bought it. I wanted another platformer anyway... **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: This is the best Disney Game since Aladdin for Genesis. There are 23 different levels. You play 8 as young tarzan, 3 as young terk, 2 as Jane and 10 as adult tarzan. Only Jane and adult tarzan can defeat enemies. Young Tarzan and young terk have to avoid them. Your goal as young tarzan and terk is to collect bananas and find your friend. As adult Tarzan, well, I really haven't got that far yet, but I suppose it's kind of the same thing. Hide and Seek mode is a little fun, but it's kind of hard to seek. There are too many places to hide. The Paint n' Print mode seems pretty useless, but it is a nice addition and a nice way to use the printer. A password appears only after a few levels and so.... Liked: This game is fun. Paint N' Print and Hide n' Seek modes are a nice addition AND IT'S NOT FRUSTRATING! YAY! Hated: Password and no place to write them in the manual... **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: This is where I love this game. This part isn't about detail, or character size. It's about the animation. It's incredible what Digital Eclipse made with this game. It is Super Nintendo quality. The entrance sequence is just jaw-dropping. THE BEST animation on GAMEBOY COLOR EVER!!!! Liked: Everything Hated: Nothin' **************************************************************************** Sound Description: Some OK sound effects. The song is cool, but it repeats over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Liked: OK sound effects. Hated: Song is too short and repetitive **************************************************************************** Play Control/ Game design: Tarzan controls beautifully well. Very responsive. You can stick to walls, ceiling and almost everything. Great design. Liked: Everything Hated: Nothing **************************************************************************** Improve: Make a password for every level. RIYL: unknown.... **************************************************************************** Final Words: I want to see the movie, because this game is great! This review will be updated as soon as I beat that damn tiger! ( 11th level) **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 21 out of 25 Final Score: 84% Words of Wisdom (BigBadBar reviews exclusive): great **************************************************************************** Currently Know codes: You shouldn't cheat you know?
