Twouble Game by Infogrames Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: Password Released: 1998 Works with: all Game boy models **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I really liked Carrot Crazy and figured that I would like this game. I found it for $20, so I bought it. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Twouble is an isometric adventure game. There are platform like levels that introduce each isometric level. In the platform levels, your goal is to reach the end of the level while chasing Tweety Bird. I forgot to mention that you play as Sylvester The Cat. Anyways, the isometric are entirely different than the platform levels. In the isometric levels, you have to look for items and then use them to solve puzzles. The isometric perspective causes the controls to seem foreign for a while, but you will come around. The puzzle aspects make this a game that you will come back to for a while. There are some hit detection issues, but you get 9 lives, so it kind of equals out. Liked: Cool puzzles. Hated: Strange controls and questionable hit detection. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics of Twouble are a mixed bag. The side-scrolling levels are very colorful on a GBC, but the isometric levels are pretty barren of color. The first level, which takes place in Granny's house, looks like a regular GB game on a GBC. Everything looks brown or black. But the second level, which takes place in the cellar, looks a lot better. The actual isometric graphics are excellent, but they're basically monochrome. Overall, the iso graphics should have been more colorful, but other than that, this game looks great. Liked: Colorful side scrolling stages. Hated: Color-less isometric levels. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Twouble features some pretty cool tunes. They're above average for the GB. The sound fx are okay. Liked: Cool music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Twouble's side scrolling stages have simple, but responsive controls. The isometric levels are another story. You will hate the controls when you begin to play, but you will get used to them. The game design is okay, but there are some hit detection problems. Liked: Great side scrolling controls. Hated: You will hate the iso controls for quite a while. **************************************************************************** Improve: Better controls and hit detection. RIYL: Carrot Crazy, other Looney Tunes games, Scooby Doo Mystery(SNES) **************************************************************************** Final Words: Don't buy Twouble looking for a WB platform game. This is a puzzle game. Small children will hate this game, but for older kids or adults, this game will find an audience. Check it out. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
