Opening Snide Remarks: This was one of the earlier N64 games ever released.
From what I remember, it was the third N64 game, behind Super Mario 64 and
PilotWings 64.

Gameplay Description: Wave Race 64 is an amazing game.  It's a water based
racing game.  You race on jet-skis.  This was an excellent idea and is a much
better game than the GB Wave Race.  You can play in a Championship Mode or 
challenge the cool Stunt mode.  There is also a 2P Mode, that is fantastic.
The way the Championship Mode is set up is perfect.  You race your way 
through the Novice series, which in turn opens up the Medium series.  It 
also opens up new tracks to race on in 2P.  The Championship Mode is a lot of
fun and you never feel like you got cheated.  The Jet-skis handle 
reallistically and the water just feels right.  This game was awesome when it
was released and it still is. 
Liked: Awesome jet-ski action.
Hated: Nothing.

Graphics Description: The graphics were amazing when this game was released.
The water graphics are still unmatched.  The driver graphics aren't so lucky.
The driver looks fine until they're shown in the cinema scenes.  You can then
see some major seams on their elbows and such.  It's not a big deal and this 
game looks great in action.     
Liked: The water.
Hated: Blocky drivers.

Sound/Music Description: The music is top notch.  The songs are catchy and 
they sound nice.  The sound fx are great, as well.  The announcer is from the
Ridge Racer school of announcing, but this just fits this game too well.
Liked: Everything.
Hated: Nothing.

Play Control/Game Design: The controls are absolutely perfect.  There are 
really only 2 action buttons-the gas and the brake.  The steering controls 
are perfectly handled by the analog stick.  This game just feels right.  It
defies explanation, but the controls are just right.  The game design is 
excellent. 
Liked: Perfect controls.
Hated: Nothing.

Improve: I just hope that a sequel is made.  It would probably be a Dolphin 
game, though.

Final Words: Wave Race 64 is a must own game.  It was groundbreaking when it
was released and it is still a blast today.  If you don't own this game, 
then shame on you.  It's perfect and that's all that there is to say about 
it.
