Opening Snide Remarks: War Gods is basically Mortal Kombat with polygon 
graphics.  This was supposedly the tryout for MK4.  Anyways, critics hated 
this game, read further to find out what I thought of it.

Gameplay Description: War Gods is a 3-D fighting game.  This game plays like 
a 3-D version of Mortal Kombat would.  It's kinda fun to play.  It's rather
simple, but I don't really understand why it took such a beating from the 
critics.  It's not the best fighting game, but it sure isn't the worst.  War
Gods might suck if you paid $60 for it, but I got my copy for $14.50.  It 
wasn't used, either.  Anyways, it's great for what I paid for it. 
Liked: Cool fighting action.
Hated: Nothing.

Graphics Description: War Gods looks great.  The characters are built of 
polygons, yet they look as good as the 2-D characters of MK did.  The 
characters move very lifelike, and they look great doing it.  The game is 
very bloody and contains fatalities.  I kinda feel that they went a little 
too far with some of the fatalities.  But this game is rated "M", so kids 
shouldn't be playing it anyway.  Anyways, the graphics are great.  
Liked: Awesome polygon graphics.
Hated: Nothing.

Sound/Music Description: War Gods has some decent tunes.  The sound fx are up
to par, as well.
Liked: Good music.
Hated: Nothing.

Play Control/Game Design: War Gods controls nicely.  The controls respond 
fairly well and are pretty easy to learn.  The game design is good, as well. 
Liked: Good controls.
Hated: Nothing.

Improve: More fatalities.

RIYL: Mortal Kombat series, Virtua Fighter series, Tekken series.

Final Words: War Gods is a pretty cool fighter.  It's rather simple, but fun.
If you want a complicated game, look elsewhere.  If you want a fun, gory game,
then check out War Gods.
