Eivind Knudsen Besteland and Gyro Olsdatter Tveiten left their home in Setesdalen, Norway, and sailed on the Columbus from Christiansand to New York, arriving August 19, 1844. They settled in Dodge County, Wisconsin. In 1855 they moved to Filmore County, and later Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. They were soon followed by other family members. |
