MY DAD

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.

A few of my dad's favorite teams.

I guess this will be the hardest part about doing my page is to talk about my dad. It's the most important part though, because this is all about memories. After a well lived life and long struggle my dad is now watching over me from heaven. He is a Lucky Man. He was a train engineer and loved his work. It was quite a family tradition. For fun though he loved all sports ... playing when he was younger and officiating later on. Dad loved a good game, especially if he had money on it!!!

The Hunters

This is a picture of my dad and my brother-in-law Tom. This picture tells a lot of stories. My dad behind his bar which still exists in my mom's basement. And what's up with that flag you ask? ... Stolen from Tiger Stadium in 1968 when the Tigers won the World Series!!! (The statute of limitations has run out on that, so don't worry.) Anyway, Tom and my dad were good friends and often went deer hunting together. Strange how in all his years of deer hunting my dad never got a deer!!! Okay ... Master Card thing ... Cost of rifle, ammo, and mass quantities of other really cool hunting stuff $3,000. For dad a hunting trip with Tom ... priceless.

Caught In The Act

Dad eating a banana split at Tony's in Birch Run. In case you've never been there, Tony's has a reputation for having no concept of an adequate portion. And how does that saying go? If no one sees you eating it it doesn't have any calories ... hmmmmm
