Note: Espiridion De la Garza and his family moved to Edinburg in the early 1930's from Sullivan City area. He moved his family to Edinburg because of economic hardship. There was much land to be cleared in the Edinburg area as well as produce that needed to be picked. Espiridion would later become a field boss also known as a "ram rod". He was a short, dark, hard working man and he expected the same from the people that he supervised out in the fields. Espiridion De la Garza was struck by lightning while tending to his field work on January 24, 1944.
