Sorties of 624
The following tables are taken from hand written sheets from the time that 1557 Flight formed into 624 Squadron at Blida North Africa. These are not necessarily 100% accurate as to the flights made although on checking against the 540 sheets from the Public Records Office there are some flights listed here that according to 540's never happened, and likewise in the reverse. On speaking to the boys of 624 it is not surprising that these anomalies occur as thee were very few people who knew all that was going on due to the top secret nature. Therefore record keeping was very limited.
I do hope that this at least gives people an insight into how the squadron was kept busy and played that very important part in the history of World War Two.
