Will of JOHN C. HENRY

In the name of God, Amen. I, JOHN C. HENRY, County of Anson, state of North Carolina, do make, publish and declare the following to be and contain my last will and testament, hereby revoking and declaring null and void any and all other wills by me at any time heretofore made to wit:

Item 1st: I give and desire to my daughter MARTHA I. HENRY, fifty dollars cash, to put on interest and to remain there and invested until she my said daughter, MARTHA arrives at the age of twenty one years, and to be applied to educating her if necessary, both principal and interest to be used for this purpose.

Item 2nd: I give and desire and bequeath to my wife LOTTIE E. HENRY during her natural life the following property real and personal; the house and lot which I now occupy and all the improvements thereon the lot containing 21 3/4 acres of land. Also my household and kitchen furniture, all my farming tools, and all of my stock of cattle, hogs, and mules, horses and poultry, and harnesses, provided that my children WALTER. S. HENRY and ERNEST E. HENRY shall share equally with my said wife the rights, privileges and benefits of all the real and personal property herein devised during the lifetime of my wife LOTTIE E. HENRY. And at her death the real property herewith described shall revert to my two children above named and item 2nd.

Item 3rd: I desire and so direct that all my personal property and all monies that I may have on hand or may be due me at the time of my death except so much as be necessary to pay my just debts or expenses, doctors bills, also excepting fifty dollars bequeathed in Item 1, to be judiciously expended to the support of my wife and two children WALTER S. HENRY and ERNEST HENRY.

Item 4th: I desire and so direct that none of my personal property be sold until the fall season of the present year. I further direct that my crop be raised, harvested and prepared for market and sold for purposes above mentioned.

Item 5th: I nominate and constitute and appoint jointly as executor and executrix of this my last will and testament my brother JOSEPH HENRY and my wife LOTTIE HENRY.
