JULY 1, 2000
The actor Roy Dupuis, one of the stars of the TV series "La Femme Nikita" was present (at the race); it was his fifth appearance.
This year, the driver was Diane Bourgeois. The two occupied 10th place at the start, but they finished in 15th place.
Roy Dupuis, who arrived two hours before the beginning of the race, got most of the attention. He was wearing a little straw hat. He did not forget to smile to the fans who were photographing him and he granted his fans many autographs.
Roy: "It's been five years that I've been participating in the Défivision race and I adore it," confided the actor. "Last year, I had the impression that my team had arrived first, but, for a reason I'm unaware of, we were classified as being in 12th place. This evening, our car was hit at least two times, we squeezed a vehicle in front of us off
the road."
"It is completely normal to be anxious before a test of this kind. Such nervousness very much resembles stage fright before putting on a scene. However, during the Défivision race, there was nothing to worry about, considering the maximum speed that can be driven, no one can be hurt. There is no danger. There are some hits, it happens, so you might as well take advantage of it. One can allow oneself to do things that are forbidden on the roads!" (Roy laughs)
Roy, who is one of the stars of the TV series "Nikita," met his teammate and driver, Diane Bourgeois, just before the race.
The car was driven by the driver Diane Bourgeois and her assistant driver, Roy Dupuis.
"I've come here for 5 years, first of all for Mira that organizes one of the best events in the world with Défivision. At the same time, this is an extraordinary moment: I have the feeling that I am participating in something unique for the blind who drive the car."
