Tell me please why there are ZERO good Viggo Mortensen fan sites and ZERO amount of quality information on the web? HELLO! Go watch the Lord of the Rings movies Whos the most GORGEOUS person in THE ENTIRE MOVIE? VIGGO MORTENSEN! Sigh. Just look at the picture above. Doesnt that make your heart skip a beat? Just one? Try three Doesnt matter. Ive been working my arse off trying to find out all the information I could about Viggo, the brilliant actor who portrays Isuldors Heir, Aragorn in Lord of the Rings.
Anywaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Viggo Mortensen was born on October the 28th in 1958 in Manhattan, New York to a Danish father and an American mother. He travelled a great deal with his family and lived in Venezuela, Argentina and Denmark. His nick names include Vig, and Orlando calls him dirty human off screen. He has green eyes and dark brown hair which last time I saw a photo of him was blonde. He graduated from Lawrence University in 1980 with a degree in government and Spanish. Viggo was married to singer Christine Ceryenka (more commonly known as Exene) but is now divorced and has one son, Henry Blake Mortensen, who was born in 1988 (my brothers age!).
Viggos acting career began in New York where he appeared in several plays and movies before moving to Los Angeles where he appeared in Bent. Viggo has a remarkable ability to completely change his appearance for each role he plays. In his fifteen years of acting you may have seen him along side Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Douglas (A Perfect Murder), Demi Moore (G I Jane), Diane Lane (A Walk on the Moon) and more recently in Lord of the Rings and not actually realised it was the same person in all those movies!
Viggo is an accomplished artist and writer, he has just realised his third book of poetry and his photography and painting has featured in many galleries and exhibitions. He is also a song writer and musician. Never the less, Viggos varied and amazing talents have not made him a house hold name he keeps such a low profile!
"You can look at life as a poem, a story, and you can see yourself . . . In moments like that, you find not only lessons for your own life, but you find something beautiful in ordinary life, something that links you to the past and to the future." - Viggo 2001
