AMERICAN ORIENT EXPRESS
The train had arrived in Temple the day before, 2-26-2001, and passengers were bused to San Antonio to spend the night. The train was stored at the BNSF refueling pads southeast of town overnight. After Amtrak #22 had departed the Temple station, the A.O.E was backed to the station from the refueling pads. Once passenger were loaded, the train departed for Houston and points east.
Besides the two Amtrak engines there were 16 cars on the train. I was able to take each cars picture as it back past me toward the station (unfortunately it was an overcast day) NOTE-use the BACK button on your browser to return to this page after viewing a car.:
