Well here it is, my work dedication page. I love my job....as i mentioned before im a derrickhand on a coil tubing rig. This particular rig is a pretty easy one to work on compared to the single which i used to work on. I am 20 and have made derrickhand not to mention relief driller which is truly amazing. it usually takes 5+ years to make driller....i did it in just over a year.....for you people that dont know what the hell a derrickhand is, it is basically the person who takes care of the mud system we use to drill with and control and maintain the hole. Thats about the easiest way to put it. I basically mix chemicals all day and make sure the fluid is at the appropriate drilling properties needed. the derrickhand is also second in command on the crew, so it basically means i have 3 little bitches to boss around. muhahaha....and when im drilling, everyone is my bitch, and i am fortunate to have 2 of my best friends to boss around. but they work awesome so i take it easy on them.

as you can see...i love drilling rigs...at least so far. its a lot of hard work, long hours and bitchy co-workers but i can see myself doing it for a long time. my long time goal is to become driller on a slant rig or a rig that has some prestige like a super single or a huge triple or something. its gonna take a while, and a lot of work...but i think it would be a dream job. after drilling i would like to move into the art of directional drilling. ill have to see what happens i suppose. before that though i plan to work either in the middle east of in south america like in venezuela or mexico.......ah yes, the dream job.

here are the various types of drilling rigs. of course precision has all of these kinds of rigs and then some. in order from right to left they are slant, single double and triple with the service rig on the end. the names basically stand for what they do/are. a slant drills a hole on a slant instead of a 90 degree angle. a single drills down one pipe at a time, a double 2 at a time and a triple has triple stands. a service rig is exactly that, it services the well once it is in production.

like i mentioned, this is a slant, precision 237 to be exact. i worked on this rig during the winter of 2003. it is a sweet rig, pretty old but still kicks some ass.
