Merrick Construction was founded in 1948 by Max M. Merrick, Sr. with the purchase of one used dragline.
He was later joined by his sons Max Jr. and Scott. Max and Scott grew up working in the company, and Max began to run
the organization after receiving his Civil Engineering Degree in 1965.
Today, Merrick Construction is owned and operated by Cain Merrick who represents the third generation
of Merricks. With Cain's leadership, the company is growing rapidly.
Experience counts. Merrick Construction is now recognized as one of the few
civil construction firms that has grown and prospered in Louisiana while so many other old family businesses have vanished.
