Red: Red is the color of courage and love. Pierre had the courage to leave the safety of France for a new beginning in an unknown land, and the love to build a safe home for his new family living in the wilderness.
Gold: Gold has always symbolizes the spiritual richness of faith, and the overwhelming power of the spirit and a strong heart. It also represents the immortality of the family (as opposed to the individual) and our eternal striving for perfection.
