INTRODUCTION
This handbook is designed to assist Hill School
students and their parents in the college admission
process. It is intended to serve as a resource book,
and to help answer some of the questions that
commonly arise as students begin to consider their
options for college. This handbook will make you
aware of your rights and responsibilities as an
applicant to college, and should help you in planning
for your college applications.
Through the college admission process, the College
Advisers assist students in developing the
appropriate life skills necessary to make major
decisions. Students learn self-assessment and
decision making techniques which enable them to make
informed choices concerning their college careers. In
consultation with the College Advisers, each young
man develops a compatible list of colleges to
research, attends various college meetings and
workshops, arranges interviews and college visits,
and obtains and completes a reasonable number of
applications.
This document contains general information
regarding the college application process as well as
specific information about Hill School policies as
they relate to that process. The College Advisers
hope that the handbook will enable students to
maximize their potential as applicants to college.
