Castle Shadow Realm
is the second oldest castle in the realm.
Its walls are marble slabs layered over masonry. It has many rooms and many hidden corridors.
From beneath the dungeons you can access a range of tunnels that can take you anywhere in the realm. There are also a few that reach into Dark Forest.
Its gardens are lush and filled with roses. The roses are Lavender blue with silver tips and the fragrance fills the air. There is a large pond at the foot of the waterfall.
There are lilies floating on its surface.
To the side of the pond on a large flat rock is the home of Nicholas Pixie Dude.
He has been a good friend to Aisling so she made him his own tiny pixie sized house.
1 -Castle Gate House
This is where the guards to the gates are stationed. They secure the inner bailey in times of stress and if an attack is eminent.
It is a small personal armory for each guard and supplies in case of siege. There are large gates that are secured with heavy iron bars.
2 - Guards tower, inner bailey
The Guards that would secure the inner bailey stay in this tower. They greet the people that arrive at the castle and make sure that they are not enemies.
3 - The Watch tower and corner battlement,
This is a very important part of the castle protection. The guards can see in all directions to keep watch for approaching guests...or armies.
4 - The Main Keep
This is where the Queen would greet her guests. It contains guest rooms, the kitchens, scullery, library and bathing rooms for the guests. The personal Chapel for the Queen and her guests is here also.
5 - The Queens apartments,
This is the part of the castle that for the queens use only. She has her private audience room there, a library and her connecting door to the Queens tower.
6 - The Queens Tower,
The upper tower is the Queens personal domain. She can go there to get away from the noise and bustle of castle life. It is a sanctuary of sorts. There is a set of stairs that lead to the lower level of the tower. The queens personal guard live there. There are twelve of them and they are the elite of all the knights.
7 - The Queens bed chamber and bathing chamber.
This is where the queen sleeps, dresses and bathes. All of her personal possessions are there and an area to sit with her ladies.
This is not the entire castle layout. In the outer area is the training area and the stables. The barracks and blacksmith, to name a few.
There is a tall was between this area and the village. It is high and thick to withstand siege. Then outside that ring of buildings are the crofters homes and the villagers.Thier chapel is located here also. The fields where the produce for the castle and village is grown are on the last and outer ring. In times of war the villagers are brought inside the walls for protection.
