These items appear as typical quivers of the sort crafted to contain a score of arrows, though they are often of red-dyed leather and tooled with a flame motif. When filled with nonmagical arrows (normal or masterwork) and left overnight (12 hours), each arrow is treated as if it has been enhanced with a flame arrow spell. After such time, if an arrow is drawn from the quiver and shot before 1 round has elapsed, it will burst into flame as it strikes and will inflict fire damage in addition to the standard piercing damage. The target is allowed no saving throw to escape the fire damage, and the arrow is automatically consumed by the flames. If an arrow is drawn from the quiver and not fired from a bow before 1 round has elapsed, the enhancement on that particular arrow fades though it remains otherwise usable.
Quiver Type | Fire Damage | Caster Level | Market Price |

Type III | 4 | 8th - 9th | 8,000 gp |
Type IV | 5 | 10th - 11th | 10,00 gp |
NOTE: The progression of quiver types does not end at IV, and the attributes of those with greater power can easily be extrapolated from the table.

The mage generally credited with the creation of the first trollbane quiver is Ahghairon of Silverymoon, who would later become the first Lord of Waterdeep. It is thought that he prepared at least a dozen of these items for use in the Second Trollwar which began circa 940 DR. If one of his quivers were to be found in a treasure hoard, it would most likely be of the more powerful variety (at least Type IV, maybe higher). [1][2]
Since 1368 DR when trolls began raiding along the Evermoor Way due to unknown events occuring in the Evermoors [3], trollbane quivers have again began to be produced with some regularity in the North. Mages in Nesmé and Silverymoon have been hard at work creating them, though only one mage is known to have offered them for sale to adventurers - Xara Tantlor of Silverymoon, proprietress of the Shining Scroll. [4]
The Spellguard of Silverymoon are rumored to be creating quivers of this type for use by the Knights in Silver [5], while Tessarin "Longtresses" Alaurun, First Speaker of the Council of Nesmé [6] is said to be doing the same for her Riders of Nesmé.
