Sky Jones was born Michael R Whipple, and produced numerous posters and industry art for movies such as Star Trek, Meteor, The Neverending Story, Dressed to Kill, etc. as well as portraiture for celebrities such as Chuck Norris, Leonard Nimoy, Kirk Douglas, Jaclyn Smith, several sports figures, politicians, etc. His artwork hangs in the private collections of such notariety as Queen Elizabeth, Burt Reynolds, Mohammed Ali, etc. His illustrations have appeared in TV Guide, Time, Look, Life, Newsweek, and People to name a few.
His limited edition prints and paintings have been collected by or displayed in museums, corporations, and galleries worldwide. Sky changed his name in 1985 to herald a major change in painting style. Sky Jones is a nationally renowned painter, sculptor, poet, writer (authored 2 books), and humanitarian.

Truth in Advertising
However, while researching this artist online I gathered the following assumptions which may affect the value of this body of work. Apparently, during the mid-90's, Sky Jones was implicated in a stock exchange scandal involving a large Canadian corporation. The CEO who invested in the art, is said to have misled his shareholders as to the real cash value of his property (including several Sky Jones paintings he presumably acquired through trade).
