KEEP ON VOTING
The campaign to see SRU football coach George Mihalik named "The Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year" continues. Mihalik, now one of the seven semifinalists, has served 20 seasons as SRU's head football coach and has compiled an impressive 136-79-4 record. The field will be narrowed to five finalists Dec. 5. SRU Alumni Association Board of Director Nominations Sought
The alumni association is currently accepting nomination for alumni to serve on the board of directors. All members of the Alumni Association are encouraged to nominate alumni to serve. There are five (5) vacancies on the board in 2008. To nominate someone, simply let the alumni office know the name and contact information of the alumnus you wish to nominate at alumni@sru.edu or 1-800-GET-ROCK. Any alumni member, who has paid annual dues or is a life member, may nominate another alumnus/a in good standing for a directorship. The nominee must be a current member of the Alumni Association.
Nominations Sought for 2008 Alumni Awards
Nominations are being sought for a number of annual alumni awards including: Distinguished Alumni Award: Given out yearly to the alumnus who graduated 20 years or more (1988+) from Slippery Rock University. Young Alumni Awards: Given out to one alumnus from each of the four Colleges who graduated 20 years or before (1988 of before) from Slippery Rock University. Distinguished International Alumni Award: Given out every two years to a former international student who graduated from Slippery Rock University. All names must be submitted to Michael Saraka, Director of Alumni Relations, by e-mail at michael.saraka@sru.edu, by phone at 724.738.2018 or by mail at 1 Morrow Way, Slippery Rock, PA 16057, by December 31, 2007.
Pittsburgh Pops Alumni Event
An annual tradition, Slippery Rock University at the Pittsburgh Pops! Join us for a glorious afternoon of music at Heinz Hall and a private reception afterwards with Marvin Hamlisch. SRU Night with the Orlando Magic
Join fellow ROCK alumni in the Orlando area for an evening of fun and professional basketball as the Orlando Magic take on the Indiana Pacers. Prices range from $20 - $40.
