Man’s Best Friend
They come in many colors
They come in any size
Their furry coats are short
or long
They have big gentle eyes
They’re company when you’re
alone
They’re playmates in the park
In daytime hours they’re gentle
pets
And fierce guards after dark
They work to guide the wary
steps
Of people who are blind
They carry things for those
who can’t
Lost items they can find
With all the things that they
can do
And loyalty to the end
It’s no small wonder that the
dog
Is known as “Man’s Best Friend”
