Photography has become a very big thing in my life. Photo II class in high school is fast becoming my favorite class (tied with orchestra :) I feel very at home behind a camera, like I can look at the world without worrying about what the world thinks of me, capturing that moment forever. Anyways, enough babble, you wanna see pictures. So, I present to you, my world as seen through my Minolta SRT101 35mm camera...

Black and white pictures

Here's a picture of St. James church, taken to illustrate low horizon line. My favorite part of the picture is the little bits of snow left on the ground.

My sister playing the guitar...another one of my favorites.

We had gotten a real Christmas tree this year in my house, and this is my cat checking it out.

Another favorite picture of mine is this one of a truck that's in our town park. I just like the look of it.

This is an interesting one...I was doing an assignment on photographing strangers, and these two ladies were walking through the park in dresses...you don't see that every day.

Also from the strangers assignment, this little kid kept calling me a puppy...I dunno. :)

Color E6 Slides

This batch of pictures was taken using Ektachrome film and processing with E6 developer which produces "positive" negatives...really cool.

Here's a chalk drawing that my sister drew on the driveway.

Lake Glacier on a foggy morning.

Orange oranges and a blue pitcher, complimentary colors...makes me thirsty.

Here's my dad's shadow on the ground as he rakes leaves.

Toning

Toning is a chemical process that complements the subject matter of the photograph with tasteful color toning. And here they are...

My cat basking in the glow of the sunlight, a very warm looking picture.

This is the pole on a merry-go-round. The toning here adds to the worn, rusty feel of the photograph.

This is my living room...a very warm and old-fashioned feeling comes from this print.

Toning blue adds to the icy, chilly feeling of my back yard on a foggy morning.

The reflection of a house in a puddle on my driveway...looks like a lake, right?

Adobe Photoshop

Sure, traditional photography is fun, but there are many freedoms in using computers to enhance photos.

A photo of the headstock of my guitar, with added lens flares to bring out the light on the machine heads.

Here's my acoustic and electric violins melded into one hybrid instrument.

Like toning, duotoning in Photoshop adds to the feel of a photograph. This city now looks very dirty and real.

Another duotone, this is my cat...he takes great pictures.

More pictures coming as I take them...
