Our projects for the 2006-2007 club year include supporting the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, and the Mammogram Fund at Pinnacle Health. In addition, we will continue assisting the Hemlock Girl Scout Council in its efforts to provide scouting opportunities for a number of inner city girls.
Scholarships and awards continue to be offered through the Young Woman Volunteer (Violet Richardson) Award, the Women's Opportunity Award and the Harrisburg Area Community College Scholarship. A new scholarship, The Margaret I. Weaver Scholarship, was first offered in Spring 2003 to a female graduate of Harrisburg High School continuing her studies in the fields of Math or Science.
