As the sign says 'The Metro-link is coming' , a new tram system for Wythenshawe. Anyone that has seen the route the trams will take may be dissapointed, it heads out to Sale then on to Trafford, why didn't they have a direct link to Manchester instead. All the houses from this sign towards the old Benchill pub building will be demolished to make room for the tracks, but it will only run along the edge of our school field.

This pic was taken from the Woodhouse Lane main gates looking towards Brownley Rd, yep ...i know... its really sad.. when i was standing there i thought about the tens of thousands of kids that spent some of their most precious moments on this land, and could almost hear the laughter of 60yrs of memories.

When these two council workers asleep in their cars noticed i had a camera, they suddenly jumped out and put their overalls on....i wonder why..lol. This is the only building left on the land, and it was a new edition (mid 80's)it was a canteen and replaced the old pre-fab that was situated at the other end of the school, its rumoured that it will be turned into a youth centre, so i suppose kids will still be coming to the site to have fun.

I was somewhere near to where the new blocks entrance was, when i took this pic. Notice the trees ,even though they were bulldozed , they are still growing and covering Woodhouse Lane.
