Fremont Area
Lake Elizabeth...
This 2.1 mile paved lake loop is very popular and at times crowded. Park behind the lagoon for easy access. There is water and restrooms around the lake. Very flat and fast.
Morrison Canyon...
This 5-10 mile road run is very steep with little traffic. The road starts at Mission Blvd. and goes up over the hills. At the top take the left fork. You can run/ride all the way to an under highway 680. Return the way you came. The right hand fork goes to private
property and ends.
Coyote Hills...
This park contains all sorts of options. You can do flats or hills run on dirt, pavement or wood board walks out through the marshes. There are water and restrooms available. A real good run is over the top of all the hills from South to North, park at visitors center and run North on the paved trail until you come to the end of the hills. The trail will be on your left. You can see the Alameda Creek Trail connection at the end of the hills. A trail that goes over highway 84 at the southern end of the park connects to the Refuge described below. Map of Coyote Hills.
Wild Life Refuge...
Just South of Coyote Hills is the Refuge. Thornton exit off highway 84 head south. This park has several trails that circle the hills and marshes. Parking is free every day and water/restrooms are available. Great place for beginning runners!
Mission Peak...
Very tough and steep trails. Start from Ohlone College or Stanford Parking Lots. Get to either off of Mission Blvd. Water and restrooms are in short supply so plan accordingly. The peak is over 2,000 feet tall and is one of the toughest runs in Fremont.
