Melnikov, Nikholaj Valerievich
My cousin. (1968 - 2010). Grandson of Vasily Dmitrievich Shchukin. Nikholaj was several times in Gorodets and made certain impact of his talents to our ancestrial house. He worked always thoroughly and with great pleasure. Endurable and accurate shutters would remind us of "Kolen'ka"'s early death while the house exist. As to Nikholaj - he would ever be in our memory as very talented person. He also manifested the courage during fight with rough disease.


Shchukin, Boris Vasilievich
My grand-granduncle. Brother of Dmitry Vasilievich Shchukin. He travelled a lot. Of course he visited Gorodets and Nyzhny Novgorod.


Shchukin, Dmitry Vasilievich
My grand-grandfather. He was the Bailiff of Gorodets in 1908-1917. In 1910 he won the definite sum of money at Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka (Fair of Nizhny Novgorod), which was spent on the well-built house in the center of Gorodets. We owned a part in that house in the past. Lived for a long period in Gorodets.


Shchukin, Philip Dmitrievich
My granduncle. (1894 - 1954). Son of Shchukin Dmitry Vasilievich and Maria Polikarpovna Shchukina. He was an MP in Moscow State Technical University aka Baumannskoye Uchilishche. Lived in Gorodets in 1908-1910.


Shchukin, Vasilij Dmitrievich
My grandfather. (1902 - lost in 1935). Son of Shchukin Dmitry Vasilievich and Maria Polikarpovna Shchukina. Lived in Gorodets for 15 years. He was an officer in Budenny Red Army in his eighteens, then the chief of KGB in town Armavir, later deported for several months to "Solovky", reabilitated and assigned a director of "Krasnaya Polyana" reserve. Lost in 1935...


Shchukina, Anna Khanaanovna
My grandmother, ne'e Aksenova. (1901 - 1995). She was born in the family of well-off Kuban cosacks. She could gallop a horse and use cavalry sword as well. Worked as a child doctor in Armavir, health-visitor in Sochi. She knew three foreign languages. Have been to Gorodets for several times in 1930th.


Shchukina, Maria Polikarpovna
My grand-grandmother. Had eight children: four boys and four girls. Lived and died in Gorodets.


Vladimirov, Mikhail Pheodorovich
My grandfather. (1890 - 1961). Son of Vladimirov Pheodor Pavlovich and Vera Yakovlevna Vladimirova. He graduated from Gorny Institute in St.Petersburg as an engineer, then became the chief of farriery on the 1st Bearing Plant in Moscow. Studied in Germany, America, Italy. Visited Gorodets. Vladimirov, Pheodor Pavlovich
My grand-grandfather. He was a lawyer in Nizhny Novgorod.


Vladimirova, Galina Vasilievna
My mother, ne'e Shchukina. (1925 - 1982). Daughter of Vasilij Dmitrievich Shchukin and Anna Khanaanovna Shchukina. She was a journalist in different newspapers, "Evening Moscow" among them. First educated as an engineer in Odessa, then turned to journalism.... She could create a plot of her fiction writings, stories and ... tales immediately as if it were all in reality... Have been to Gorodets in 1930th. Drowned in the Black Sea.


Vladimirova, Nadezhda Dmitrievna
My grandmother. (1897 - 1984). Daughter of Dmitry Vasilievich Shchukin and Maria Polikarpovna Shchukina. She was a teacher in English, first lessons to love English came from her... Lived in "lovely Gorodets" (according to her reminiscences) from 1904 till 1917.


Vladimirova, Vera Yakovlevna
My grand-grandmother, ne'e Yelpatyevskaya. Her character was well described in the story "Varya" published in the book "Krutye Ghory" (Stories from the Past) written by her brother. Lived in Nyzhny Novgorod.


Yelpatyevsky, Sergey Yakovlevich
My grand-granduncle. (1854 - 1933). Brother of Vera Yakovlevna Yelpatievskaya -- the future wife of Phoedor Pavlovich Vladimirov. He was born in the family of deacon. Later he became a doctor and writer. Lived in Nizhny Novgorod. One of the members of "Narodnaya Volya" organization. He was in exile in Siberia. The contemporary and friend of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov.


Yudin, Dmitry Yurievich
My second cousin. (1957 - 2008). Grandson of Philip Dmitrievich Shchukin. He was, as his grandfather, an MP in Moscow State Technical University aka Baumannskoye Uchilishche. Dmitry visited Gorodets for many times. He was one of inspires for us to be there. Dima was poisoned to death by robbers in suburban electric train, just before conquesting another job's peak - great sorrow for all relatives!
