Common science vessel in service with Starfleet for over 80 years. The first Oberth Class ship seen was the ill-fated USS Grissom in ST111 'The Search for Spock'. These vessels are also used by other Federation institutions, and are possibly decommissioned Starfleet vessels. These non-Starfleet vessels carry little crew, are less advanced than Starfleet ships, yet appear to have more automated systems and carry mission specific scientific equipment. This delightful model is highly detailed and is a 2 piece all resin cast plus displau base..
