Shavuot is also called the "Festival of the First Fruits." The Bible commands the owner of land in Israel to take the
first ripe fruits of the harvest to the Temple in Jerusalem. The "first fruit" offerings were limited to the "seven species"
including wheat, barley, vines, figs, pomegranates, olive oil, and honey. These "first fruits" (bikurim) were to be brought
to the Temple from Shavuot until Sukkot.

Great for holiday table items - for yourself or as gifts
Project Idea: Stitch each one in the color of the fruit or grain
- purple for the grapes, red for the pomegranate etc. Would make a great table runner or napkins! (I'm in the
process of making one!)
