Let Me Tell You A Little About Me, How I Met My "Heavenly Angel," How Much He Has Done For Me, And Why I Call Him My "Heavenly Angel"

Hello, my name is Mandi Calbick. I am in my twenties. I have one leg due to an attempted abortion. Also, due to the attempted abortion I have had 59 surgeries, and continuing struggles with my health. I was three months premature, weighed 2lbs. when I was born, and I was adopted by a VERY disfunctional family. Despite all the challanges that I may have I don't let ANYONE or ANYTHING stand in my way. I am a SURVIOR not a VICTIM.
I was born in Sherbrooke, Canada at the Childrens Hospital on March 3, 1979. While I was there I was well taken care of by a wonderful woman named Shelli Schnider. Today, I call her "Aunt Shelli." Even after all these years Aunt Shelli and I have managed to stay in touch with each other. Also, what I admire most about Aunt Shelli is that even after twenty some years she still works at the same hospital.
I am also very happily married to a wonderful man named Joshua Lee Calbick who is also in his twenties. Josh was born on November 18, 1977 in Juno, Alaska. Josh lived there for fourteen years before he moved down to Roseburg, Oregon with his mother and sister which was in 1992. Josh also lived a very hard life. He was violent during his childhood but, because of a program called "Riverside Center" he's grown and blossomed into a VERY loving, gentle and kind-hearted young man. He also has a heart of gold. That along with many of his other wonderful qualities was what made me fall deeply inlove with him.
My husband and I met over the phone while he lived in Oregon and I lived in Washington. Before we had even seen each other face to face we started dating over the telephone. About a month into our relationship we were finally able to see each other face to face. On May 4, 2000 I decided to go down to Oregon to visit him for what was suppose to be a two week visit. Needless to say four days later which would have been May 8, 2000 he asked me to marry him in which I accepted (of course!!!). A year and three months later we were joined as one by marriage and now we live together in Lincoln City, Oregon. And needless to say we are as happy now as we were when we first heard each others voices over the phone.
Since my husband has entered my life he has shown me nothing but love, respect, dignity, and most importantly he has supported me in all of my dreams as well as surgeries, and heartaches. He has been there through it all. This is why I call him my "Heavenly Angel."
Before I close I would like to thank my loving husband for all the support, love, and gentleness that he has shown me with in the almost three years that we have been together. Honey, I love you with all of my heart and I want you to know how much I appreciate all that you do, have done, and plan to do with/for me in the future. No, matter what is going on in your day you have always made time for me, listened to me, and given me a shoulder to cry on.....................THANKYOU!!!!

Things I Enjoy Doing During My Spare Time

Things I enjoy doing during my spare time? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........? that's a tough question considering that I don't really get that much spare time due to the fact that I am a full time college student getting my B.A. in Business Mgmt. and have a full time job as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk.
When I do get the spare time though I do take advantage of it by either: Camping, Swimming, Crafts, Baking, Writing emails, Writing poetry, Reading poetry, Listening to music, Art, Sing, Visit people I haven't seen in a long time, Watch a little TV, Go take a drive with my husband, Call people that I haven't called in awhile, Go for a road trip with friends or family (especially my husband), and Go shopping when I have the money!

The Secret That Almost Took My Life!!!

The secret that almost took my life was two eating disorders called "Anorexia" and "Bolemia."
While I was growing up all I ever heard from my mother was how fat I was, how fat I was getting, and how no man would ever want an overweight, one-legged woman as his wife (I weighed about 79 pounds when I lived at home with my parents).
Infact, the reason my husband and I ended up seeing each other face to face a month after we started dating was because he had told me that if I had ended up in the hospital again he would be down to Washington to comfort me, and to be by my bedside even if he had to hitch-hike or hop a train. Well, unfortunately in April of 2000 I was in the hospital due to having numerous black-outs. I had starved myself for four days because I had felt that being 85 pounds was "FAT". In a matter of a week I had gone from being 85 pounds down to 70 pounds.
After days of reasearch the doctors finally came to the conclusion that I was a victim of two very serious eating disorders. Due to this I went to counseling to try to get some help. Unfortuantely, the counselor was not one that was specialized in dealing with people who suffered from eating disorders.
NOBODY can understand how you feel, what you feel, or why you do such harm to yourself, if they haven't been in your shoes.

This site is dedicated to a very special little angel in my husbands and my eyes. Her name is Angelique Rose Calbick. She was our daughter whom we unfortunately lost on October 13, 2000 due to a miscarriage.
We name her Angelique Rose because in our eyes she is a very beautiful angelic angel and even though she isn't here with us physically she is here in spirit as well as in our hearts and we know that up in Heaven she will, or maybe even has blossomed into a very beautiful rose.
"MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU SWEET LITTLE ANGEL!!! AND YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS!!!"

Who Has Been My Rolemodel, And Why?

This is my loving husband looking just as HOT as ever!!

I would have to say the person who has been the biggest rolemodel in my life has been my husband. why? because before I met him I didn't know how to live, respect myself, have fun, love myself for me, or stand up for myself.
Although it has been a whindy and bumpy road with trying to get me to think better about myself and live better he has stuck around and been there to teach me.
He has also taught me so much about life. Stuff that I had never even thought of such as drugs, violence.......etc.
Before I had met my husband I had lived a very sheltered life. I had never gone camping, I had never driven, and I had never been out on a "real" date.
My husband has shown me and taught me a lot about life and what you need to survive. With out him taking the time to show me these things I would still be a very nieve person which at times I still am to a certain extent.
Today, in this world and in these days you can't afford to be nieve. So, I am very thankful for him teaching me the valuable things to life.

And What Makes Me Love Him So Much!!!

What makes me love my nephew so much is just the way he makes feel when I am down.
When I am down or just not feeling myself I know just the person to go see that I know with out a doubt will cheer me up. That little angel is Juztyn. He brightens my day when he smiles, laughs, when he blows or gives kisses. What really makes my day is when he says my name and comes and gives me lots and lots of hugs and kisses that is what REALLY makes my day.
Juztyn is also a very tough guy he could fall off the bed or out of the car and fall face first and get up and be laughing about it the next minute.
What really intrigues me about him is the fact that he can entertain himself just by playing with stuff like the big five gallon water jugs that we get from Mt. Shasta, plastic hangers, and boxes.

My husbands and my BIGGEST nightmare!!!

Our BIGGEST nightmare that I would like to share with ya'll is this: In May of 2002 my husband and I lost everything that we had worked so hard for such as our job, our home (which left us homeless), and our car due to some false allegations that were made about us by our client Deborah D. Thomas...................And even through it all including the struggles that we have had to endure because of the lies that were told we are still together and our marriage is just as strong as it ever was when we first walked down that aisle and became one. That's how you know when you have "True Love" when you can go through struggles and challenges including being homeless and still make it...............It wasn't easy and it never is but, the key is, is to lean on each other for support and guidance. The most important lesson is to NEVER stop seeing what you saw in your mate when you first fell inlove.
