M&Ms
Chapter nine
By Crystal
I got home from work around five thirty which only gave me enough
time to go
to the restroom and touch up my hair and make up before Nick
would get here.
All day long I thought back to this morning and my conversation
with Nick.
And it hit me. Nick had asked me out! How could I possibly have
forgotten
about that wonderful time we had at the roller rink? But now a
different guy
asked me out and since I wasn't in a relationship with Nick that
meant that I
was free to date whomever I wanted. I like Nick, a lot, but it's
almost as
if he automatically expects me to be his girl, and that's just
not my game.
I wouldn't mind dating Nick though. I wouldn't have uttered these
words a
year ago, but Nick is my type of guy. He's not the annoying pop
star I
thought he would be. His head is full of a brain, not blank air.
The doorbell rang.
"Come in!" I shouted from upstairs in my bedroom. I
watched as Nick opened
the door and walked in.
"Brash? Where you are?"
"Up here. I'll be down in a sec."
"Okay." He went and sat down on my couch.
I ran down the stairs and looked at Nick. He looked so good! His
hair was
kind of spiked up, and shorter, which made him look even more
handsome. He
was wearing a white top and khakis, very casual and good looking.
"You look really good Nick," I said.
He smiled. "You look even better. I meant to tell you that
this morning."
"Thanks. It's one of my new outfits. I hope I don't get too
cold later
tonight."
"You won't. It's going to be really humid tonight."
"Tremendous. Well, shall we get going?"
After a long dinner at a pizza joint, we stopped by the market to
pick up
some car snacks, mainly for Sass. After the back seat was stocked
with more
fat inducing treats than you could shake a stick at, we were off
to the
airport. The entire car ride there was spent blabbing about music
we hated
and loved, the latest movies and how much I love chocolate.
We parked the car in the conglomerate parking garage and headed
inside for
the gates. Nick had to shove on a hat so that nobody would
recognize him, or
so he said.
"You know, I still don't know what I'm going to say to Sass
when she sees you
here with me. She's going to assume that we're dating or
something," I
laughed.
"Just tell her that we're friends. She already knows that
you've met me.
She'll be fine. I'm just a normal guy too you know!"
"I know that, but she doesn't. She thinks of you as Nick
Carter, wonder
singing god from heaven above, sent to earth to swoon us all with
your smooth
voice and handsome good looks."
"I can tell you made that last part up yourself," he
joked.
"Oh! You caught me! Shoot, now all my secrets are
revealed." I rolled my
eyes at him and smiled.
We arrived at the gate and noticed that her plane was taxing into
the gate.
Five minutes later the five foot seven beauty strutted out of
that ridiculous
tunnel thing, saw me, ran up to me and jumped up on me!
"OH MY GOD BRASH! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" she squealed.
I hugged her back
and laughed.
"Hey! Get off of me! You're making a scene! Jumping is done
at home! Now
let's get out of here before
"
"Brash, you have some explaining to do!" she said
I looked at her, looking at Nick and froze.
