Chapter 29
By Crystal
Casey changed into her new black jeans and a black tank top
before she and Nick left. They got in his Durango and set out
into the city.
"So what do you want to do?" he asked.
"I don't know. You're the tour guide. What's there to
do?"
"Anything."
"Wow, descriptive. You should contact the mayor about
writing the tourist brochure."
"I don't think so."
"Let's head to the mall. At least there's always something
to do there."
"Oh fun fun. I hope I brought my hat."
"Why would you need a hat? Oh! I see. Well then you'd look
even more suspicious. If you really don't want to be recognized
then why don't you walk in there naked?"
"Right, that'd really cause attention."
"Not really. They'd all be too busy looking at the rest of
your body and not your face."
Nick looked at her oddly. "You've put way too much thought
into this."
"Yeah because on lonely nights I sit and pine over you
Nick."
"Good to know Casey. I'll have to keep that in mind."
"You do that you Stallion."
Nick blushed and laughed. "Why do you keep calling me
Stallion?"
"Because it's funny and good for blackmail. It's not an
endearing term."
"Can't you call me something endearing then?" he asked.
"Only if you give me good reason to."
"I was good in bed, doesn't that count?"
"Fuck no! Especially considering it was in the kitchen on
the floor where all that stuff took place."
Nick pulled into an empty parking space and turned off the
engine. He searched and found an old hat and a pair of glasses.
"It's really sad that you get recognized a lot Nick,"
said Casey as she shut her door and walked around to Nick's side.
"And what makes you say that?"
"Because then they see me and think that I'm with you or
something. I don't want rumors flying around that I'm your
girlfriend or anything."
"Trust me, the feeling is mutual." He held open a mall
door for her and she entered the cool building.
"So where do you want to go?" he asked as they started
to just walk any random way.
"Actually, I want to go to that music store. I accidentally
broke my Eminem cd."
"How'd you manage to do that?" he asked.
"When I was going back to my room after our little get
together in the shower I accidentally stepped on the case, which
the cd was inside of, and it broke in half." They walked
into the store and headed directly over to the cds. She picked it
up and smiled. "Done," she announced. She went up to
the register, paid for her cd and when she turned around saw some
girls on the opposite side of the room from Nick eyeing him.
Deciding to save them both the recognition, she went over to
where he was standing and casually said, "If you don't want
to be recognized then I suggest you leave because there are about
4 girls eyeing you right now." Nick looked at her and
sighed. They walked out of the store together, trying not to get
Nick recognized. Once they were outside the store, Casey looked
behind her. Sure enough the girl were following them.
"Pick up the speed Nick. We've got to hide you," she
whispered. They quickened their walking speed and tried to find a
place where they would be out of site. Casey saw a photo booth to
their left and quickly pulled Nick inside of it. He sat down on
the little seat and looked up at Casey expectantly. The space was
so small that Casey had to bend down in front of him. She peeped
out through the curtain and saw the girls pass by them. She
sighed and looked at Nick.
"Coast is clear. You owe me Carter." She turned around
and sat down on his lap, then leaned her head back. "I am so
tired!" she sighed. "You would think that after
sleeping all day I would be wide awake."
"Thanks for helping me out Casey. I appreciate it."
"Don't worry about it. I didn't want to be bothered with
girls who think you're a god." She looked at the sign inside
the photo booth. "While we're in here
" She pulled
out two dollars from her pocket and put them in the money slot.
"Let's make a Kodak moment." Before Nick knew what was
going on Casey was completely on top of him, kissing him
passionately and flashes were going off. Nick pulled away and
looked at the camera as it flashed off a picture. He looked back
at Casey and pinned her up against the wall. His hands slid up
her top and found their way to the clasp of her bra. He unclasped
it and ran his hands smoothly over her chest, exciting her. She
moaned against Nick's mouth and wrapped her arms around his neck,
holding him against her tightly.
"Damn. I have wanted you for the last eighteen years,"
she moaned. Nick stopped suddenly and looked up at her. FLASH!
Went the last picture. "What did you say?" he asked in
disbelief.
She looked at him then looked away. She bit the corner of her
mouth and silently cursed herself. "The pictures are done.
We should get going." Casey crawled out of the booth,
followed by Nick. As they waited for the pictures to be developed
he never took his eyes off of her. She stood there staring at the
ground. After a few minutes the pictures slid out. Casey took
them and looked at them. She then looked up at Nick. "Just
forget I said it. It's probably from the alcohol or something. It
never happened. Just like last night." She turned and walked
away.
