Simple Basics of WHAT HAPPENED TO WORKERS

Industries pay much more than Service jobs.

13 American colonies FORBIDDEN to build industries by London. Colonists required to buy from ENGLAND.

On the very first day Washington became president he signed a small TARIFF bill to create some American industries.

A TARIFF, otherwise known as a TARIFF WALL, taxes foreign goods at the ports they come into the country.

This causes them to be more expensive to the American consumer while also raising the wages of the American worker

For example, an American worker constructing TV sets may be getting a wage of $20 plus benefits equal to another $20 (Medical care for his wife and kids and a retirements pension).

But with no TARIFF WALL another country, using slave labor, could come along and sell TV sets in America for MUCH less than the American company could.

This will then ruin the American family as the father would lose his job and the whole family will have to work for mimimum wage to survive.

THE ONLY WAY AN AMERICAN WORKER CAN COMPETE AGAINST BILLIONS OF THIRD WORLD PEOPLE WILLING TO WORK FOR A BOWL OF FOOD EACH DAY WOULD BE TO DROP TO THEIR ECONOMIC LEVEL.

What actually happens is a shift from Industrial Capitalism to Economic FEUDALISM as only people who are BORN INTO their money can have money.

Their parents invest in the Third World slave labor manufacturers and make huge amounts of money to pass on to their kids.

And there is no longer a way for regular people to rise.

OBSERVE THE PEOPLE SUPPORTING NO TARIFF WALLS: THEY ARE ALL PEOPLE WHO WERE BORN INTO THEIR MONEY AND DID NOT HAVE TO EARN IT!!!

But the TARIFF WALL was small until 1807.

However, the British were fightin Napoleon and they were harrassing American ships.

In 1807, rather than declare war, President Jefferson BANNED ALL TRADE WITH ENGLAND!

This gave American Industries a MONOPOLY as England had still supplied most of America's manufactured items. So ther was HUGE demand and small supply. Investors threw their money at industries and America quickly an INDUSTRIAL NATION.

It stayed that way until October 1973.
