Earth: 2025 Talk / Alliance Talk / Mel Gibson hates SOL...Patriot proved it

I don't know, it was just a hunch, but last night i saw Patriot and he proved it... ***Begin History Lesson*** In the beginning of the Patriot, the American Feel-Okay movie this summer, Mel Gibson is assembled at a State Assembly meeting of sorts and they are deciding whether or not to fight with Philidelphia... Gibson the "Pacifist" stands up and says something to the effect of "I'd rather have 1 tyrannt 3000 miles away than 3000 tyrannts 1 mile away". At this the crowd gave a good laugh, but i'm not sure about its intent. If the movie tried to show that as his line, then its down right funny, but i suspect that they laughed cause they were all familiar with the popular line at the time. Regardless, that line actually is very well-known throughout history. Namely, its the quote that people used when they complained about the "antagonizers" before the war that use to preach and hollar about freedom and American Rights.
