Heh, well, I'm not quite sure if this would get any interest at all, but I'm curious how something like this would work out.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT?

It's to rank some alliances, in a new way. :)

WHAT KIND OF RANKINGS SHOULD WE EXPECT?

This should produce wholly subjective rankings based not on my opinion, but on the general AT public's opinion.

WHY USE ONLY SUBJECTIVE RANKINGS?

The reason I think subjective rankings would be better is because people get their ideas of what alliances are good and what are bad from somewhere. We may not be able to pinpoint it and make a formula for it, but we have ideas of who we think are good alliances and who think are... less than good. Those ideas we don't form without the aid of the alliances in question. The things they do, how well they perform, etc. influence us to think the way we do.

HOW WILL THIS WORK?

1) I'll start by listing a few major alliances off the top of my head, in no particular order. People can then say "Hey, I think XXX alliance should be up there, too!" or "XXX? They don't deserve to be anywhere in the top 20" and I'll form a top 20 list (without order) from people's opinions.

2) Once a list of 20 alliances has been formed, I will pick the first alliance on that unordered list and ask people to say what alliances (from the list, and in no particular order) they think should be ranked BELOW that alliance. Alliances that are nearly tied or above the alliance in question should not be mentioned. Just mention the ones that you think should be, with acceptable certainty, ranked below the one in question.

3) After this has been done for each alliance in the list, I'll take a good long look at the results and come up with the rankings that most everyone has indirectly agreed on, and make note of the inevitable cases where alliance B was generally ranked below alliance A, and alliance C was usually ranked below alliance B, but alliance A was typically ranked below alliance C. This would make us wonder if alliance A or C is better.

4) Depending on if there are too many conflicting results (as described at the end of part 3), I may post the results then or decide another method to rank the remaining alliances in question (or just have the occasional tied rank). But we'll have to see how well the rankings agree by this point before deciding what to do.

ARE THERE ANY DISCLAIMERS?

Why yes, there are.

Take no offense I don't mention an alliance that should be top 20. These are only off the top of my head, and I only mentioned 20. If you have a problem that an alliance is or is not mentioned, just post here and say so. That's the point of this thread.

Also, this isn't JUST for this reset so far, or expected rankings this reset. This is just your overall opinion in any given reset of what alliances you feel are top 20. Not in scores, not in wars, just in general from your own intuitive rankings.

If you think that list pretty much covers the top 20, not in order, then don't worry about it now. :) If you think an alliance should be there that isn't mentioned, suggest it. If you think an alliance is there that shouldn't be top 20, say so.

DO NOT rank alliances, just list one or more that you think deserve to be here or not to be here.

See? I forgot Arrow, though I do agree they belong there. I did remember AoD and PoW, but to keep the list at 20, I couldn't find anyone to replace them with that I thought I could leave off the top 20 list, except for maybe FA, ICN, or maybe Horizon just because I haven't developed much of an opinion of them yet.

But this is all about the general opinion of everyone, so keep the suggestions coming. :) Don't forget you can suggest that an alliance NOT be on the list, as well. I don't want everyone to just keep suggesting alliances to be ON the list, but never OFF the list.

LOL, but HAGS, that's an ALPHABETICAL ranking, not meant to be in any valuable order at all. :)

I'd hope you'd rank your alliance as highly in your own rankings, if you ranked by the letter it starts with. ;)

but in my rankings my alliance is 24th, in yours they are atleast 20th if not 18th
