Welcome to the Back Deck's Brody Lovett's Cove Where your meals are served alfresco as you listen to a tape of the ocean and watch the sun set over the park in Angel Square while feasting on flan.
Over the years, The Diner of Love has had its share of visitors. People come and go. Although their stay may be brief, for a while at least, they bring a smile. Currently the Back Deck is hosting our favorite ex-Navy-Seal, Brody Lovett, who is played by Mark Lawson. This is his own little piece of real estate with colored lights strung across the deck, music provided by a live band, free Margaritas during Happy Hour and a tape of waves hitting the shore roaring in the background. Kick off your shoes and pull up a lounge chair. Have a soda pop or a beer, listen to some beach music and tap your foot to the beat as you share some tales about snorkeling in the Bahamas.
As I suspected, the writers actively threw Brody under the bus last year in order to prop up Rex. Brody already had issues with alcohol and suffered from war induced emotional issues before they decided that to make him totally lose it, have a meltdown and end up at St. Anne's. In fairness, though, those issues have so far only served to make Brody a more interesting and complex character. Maybe the show is going to let him have a fighting chance. He is now "dating" follow St. Anne's graduate Jessica Buchanan
