Jessica asked Viki to let Natalie move into Llanfair. Viki overcame her initial doubts and agreed to let Natalie live in the carriage house. Viki then questioned Jessica about her feelings for Seth. Privately, Natalie revealed to Seth that it would have been more conducive to their plan if she was living in the main house, but at least Seth would be able to spend nights with her in the carriage house. Later, Seth gave Natalie a loving note and necklace, which he tenderly placed around her neck just as Jessica walked through the door.

A panicked Lindsay thought that Jen overheard her confessing to the "hottiebaresall" setup, but Jen wasn't quite able to make out what was being discussed so heatedly between her mother and Cristian. However, Lindsay's relief was short-lived when Jen demanded that Cristian tell her everything he knew about what was going on. Cristian came clean with Jen, saying that he believed Lindsay plotted to break them up with the website. Cristian then backed up his claims with all the facts as he understood them. Lindsay adamantly denied Cristian's accusations, and she asked Jen whom she believed

Jen believed that she knew who was telling the truth, and she asked Cristian to leave. Jen surprised a relieved Lindsay when she blasted her for attempting to ruin her relationship with Cristian. Jen told Lindsay that she was dead to her, and then walked out. Privately, Lindsay vowed to destroy Cristian. In Break Bar, a furious Cristian attacked Chad, taking out his anger on him for his role in Lindsay's plot. R.J. offered his support to Cristian by firing Chad after learning that he and Lindsay set up "hottiebaresall." Jen arrived to talk to Cristian, and she revealed that she knew the truth.

Todd demanded that Asa and Gabrielle take down Blair along with Max, but Asa was unwilling to work with Todd. Todd handed them an ultimatum — do his bidding or he would hold a screening of the Max and Gabrielle tape for all interested parties. Later, Gabrielle arrived at the Penthouse to strike a deal with Todd.

Natalie convinced Jessica that the necklace Seth placed around her neck was in fact a surprise gift for Jessica, and Seth merely wanted her opinion of it. Jessica stunned Natalie and Seth when she announced that she intended to move into the carriage house with Natalie. Jessica then discovered the note Seth wrote which read, "For Natalie, Until my love is no longer secret. Me.”

Todd wondered if Gabrielle's feelings for Max had changed. However, Gabrielle maintained that she hated Max with every fiber of her being. A reluctant Gabrielle finally agreed to incorporate Blair's downfall into her plan for Max. Before Gabrielle could finalize a deal with Todd for the videotape, Viki interrupted to bid farewell to Todd before her book tour. Viki tried to use her revitalizing experience of forgiving Allison in order to inspire Todd to forgive Blair. However, Todd condemned Viki's act of kindness towards a woman who had kidnapped her daughter, and he suggested that Allison could still be dangerous. Meanwhile, Asa expressed his concern to Gabrielle that Todd was now a player in their plot.

Carlotta arrived at Sam's place to confront Lindsay about her evil misdeeds. Carlotta berated Lindsay for orchestrating the "hottiebaresall" website. Further, she warned Lindsay to stay out of her diner. Carlotta couldn't believe the lengths that Lindsay had gone to in order to break up Jen and Cristian. She told Lindsay that she wouldn't be surprised if Jen disowned her forever. Lindsay vowed that she wouldn't allow a "bad influence" like Cristian to build a future with her daughter. Meanwhile, Jen told Cristian that she believed he was telling the truth. She apologized to Cristian and asked him to forgive her for not trusting him. Cristian and Jen kissed after the two reaffirmed their feelings for one another.

Jen told Cristian that she's never going back to Sam's house as long as Lindsay lived there. An excited Jen accepted Cristian's invitation to move in with him, and then she left to pack her belongings. Meanwhile, a frantic Lindsay phoned Will and pleaded with him to return to Llanview, but Sam stopped her. A skeptical Sam wondered why Lindsay believed that Cristian had turned Jen against her. Lindsay adamantly denied involvement with the website, but she stopped Sam from calling Jen. Lindsay was afraid that she'd lost Jen, like she'd lost everyone else. However, Sam assured Lindsay that she hadn't lost him. A disgusted Jen walked in just as Lindsay kissed Sam.

 Later, Cristian revealed to Antonio that Jen was moving into his loft

A horrified Jen was stunned to walk in on Lindsay and Sam kissing. Jen wondered how Sam could kiss Lindsay after all she had done. However, Sam explained he was just comforting Lindsay, and she took it too far. Despite Lindsay's best efforts at interceding, Jen told Sam the truth about everything Lindsay had done to break up her and Cristian. A disgusted Sam then tossed Lindsay out in the rain. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Nora and Rachel discussed Nora's horrible ordeal with Colin and the likelihood of Lindsay ever having to pay for her misdeeds.

Seth and Natalie continued to plot behind Jessica's back as Jessica moved in to the carriage house. Jessica asked a shocked Natalie about the "secret lover" who wrote the note. Natalie lied that it was from some guy she met in the park. Later, Natalie snuck out of the carriage house for a secret rendezvous with Seth in the garden shed. Unbeknownst to them, Jessica was outside looking for Natalie, as Seth and Natalie were about to make love.

A determined Gabrielle again tried to get the videotape back from Todd, who took advantage of the chance to elicit details of her and Asa's plot against Max. Todd figured out that Gabrielle's plan was to frame Max for "killing" Asa. Todd approved of the plot, and he wanted Gabrielle to frame Blair for providing Max with the drugs that would "kill" Asa. Todd decided that all he needed to turn Blair into Max's accomplice was a signature of hers that he could copy.

Meanwhile, Blair figured that Max would never wed her if he knew the baby was Todd's. Renee deduced that Blair was keeping Max in the dark about something, and warned Blair that she better not hurt Max. Max and Blair disingenuously told Renee that they were marrying for love, not just the baby. However, Max and Blair's minds were on Gabrielle and Todd, respectively, as they rehearsed their upcoming wedding with Renee. Later, Gabrielle and Max were drawn back to Asa's lodge, while Blair found Todd in her bedroom.

Natalie awoke from a nightmare in which Jessica had caught her in the act with Seth, something they had narrowly avoided the night before. A shaken Natalie phoned Seth at Break Bar to remind him they couldn't let anything ruin their plan, and they needed to be especially cautious in the future. Natalie came up with a cover story when Jessica questioned her as to her whereabouts the night before. Meanwhile, Cristian hinted to Seth that there was something very painful in Jessica's past. Seth followed Jessica from the carriage house after noticing her odd reaction to a silver baby rattle among her belongings. Later, Seth watched an upset Jessica at baby Megan's grave

At Sam's house, Cristian and Jen happily reunited and anticipated their romantic getaway to Cape May. Al arrived with a bouquet of roses for Jen, but was devastated to learn that Jen and Cristian were back together. After Al left, Cristian remarked that Jen had broken Al's heart, but Jen insisted that she and Al were just friends. Meanwhile, a drenched Lindsay arrived at Bo's garret to seek comfort. Bo comforted Lindsay over her falling out with Jen. Lindsay told Bo that Sam threw her out and that Cristian would destroy Jen's life. However, Bo defended Cristian to Lindsay, which piqued her interest. Bo then counseled Lindsay to ask Jen for forgiveness. Lindsay returned to Sam's house and overheard Cristian and Jen discussing his deception of R.J.

Todd delivered Blair's signature to Asa. A smug Todd hinted that Gabrielle might have reason to double cross Asa in order to ride off into the sunset with Max. Meanwhile, Gabrielle and Max tried to cover their reasons for showing up at the lodge. They soon found themselves remembering their lovemaking. They dropped all pretense of not caring and admitted they have feelings for one another. Unable to resist their mutual attraction, Gabrielle and Max fell into a passionate kiss. Upon Al's return to the mansion, Asa noticed his downcast state, and he advised him to go fishing at the lodge. Later, a stunned Al witnessed his parents in the heat of the moment.

At Megan's gravesite, Jessica discovered Seth watching her as she talked to Megan. An upset Jessica then opened up to Seth about baby Megan. Jessica's touching story made Seth see her in a new light

Al was enraged when he realized that his parents were having an affair with one another, and neither Max's attempts to take blame for it, nor Gabrielle's pleas to stay away from Max were enough to calm a furious Al. Al reminded Gabrielle of Max's rotten past treatment of them, and vowed to have nothing more to do with his mother. He stormed out and peeled off on his new motorcycle. A shattered Gabrielle turned on Max after he kept her from following Al. Max told Gabrielle that Al wasn't going to listen to her in the state that he was in. Meanwhile, Al, who was not wearing his helmet, wiped out on his motorcycle.
 
Lindsay walked in on Jen and Cristian, covering her reaction after overhearing that Cristian had been working undercover with the police to nail R.J. Lindsay wanted to speak with Jen alone, but Jen wouldn't have it. Lindsay made an emotional plea for forgiveness, but Jen continued to want nothing to do with her. When Lindsay found that she couldn't make any headway with Jen while Cristian was at her side, she plotted another round of downfall. Jen overheard Lindsay make a threat, and Cristian ordered her out of Sam's house. Cristian and Jen looked forward to going to Cape May, but Sam had something to say to them before they left. Meanwhile, Lindsay revealed to R.J. that Cristian was working with the cops to set him up.

Privately seething at Cristian's betrayal, R.J. explained away his presence in Cristian's apartment. Cristian rushed off to the hospital after Jen called to inform him of Al's accident. Alone, R.J. placed a call and ordered someone to take care of Cristian.

Max demanded a straight answer from Gabrielle about "the plan." While Max pressed Gabrielle, Al laid unconscious on the side of the road. Jen found Al and frantically called an ambulance, then Gabrielle. Jen's phone call interrupted Gabrielle just as she was about to reveal the truth to Max. In the ER, Troy worked to stabilize Al, who had been delivered there by Jen and the EMTs. A distraught Gabrielle and Max arrived, and later, Troy told them that he had some bad news about Al's condition.

Seth told Natalie how Jessica lost baby Megan, and Natalie warned Seth not to soften towards Jessica. Al remained in critical condition, and was in need of a blood transfusion. Max and Al shared the same rare blood type, so Max willingly went with Troy to donate blood. Meanwhile, a distraught Gabrielle was left to do nothing but worry. Todd paid Gabrielle an unwelcome visit in the waiting room. He demanded speedy action in their plan to bring down Max and Blair, but Gabrielle could only think of her son. In Al's ICU room, Max told an unconscious Al that he was sorry for the way things have been between them. Later, Al woke up to see Gabrielle at his bedside. Seeing Gabrielle as a weak link who had betrayed him, Todd took matters into his own hands and prepared to tell Max the truth about what Gabrielle and Asa were up to.

Todd was on the verge of telling Max the truth when Blair interrupted them at the hospital. Todd then decided against warning Max about Gabrielle's scheme to bring him down. Blair insisted to Todd that Gabrielle and Max's tryst wouldn't stop her wedding. However, Max had some news for Blair — the wedding's off. Max explained to a stunned Blair that Al's condition precluded their wedding plans, and he couldn't think about getting married until Al was better. In response, Blair experienced pain in her abdomen, but Troy diagnosed her with simple Braxton-Hicks contractions. Alone, Blair lashed out at Todd, telling him that he would never see her again or get to know her baby because she was leaving town. Sam urged Todd to go to Blair and find out the truth. Meanwhile, Blair wrote Todd a letter revealing that he was the baby's father.

Gabrielle was overjoyed to learn that Al was going to recover. Al awoke, but he didn't want to see his parents. Alone, Max defended Gabrielle to Al, and she overheard. In turn, Gabrielle expressed to Al how Max loved him unconditionally. Further, Gabrielle told Al that even if he never loved Max in return he would still give his life for him. However, Al was disgusted by the thought that Gabrielle had fallen in love with Max again.


Al thanked Jen for saving his life, and it was apparent that his feelings for her were stronger than ever. Jen told Cristian that she didn't feel right going away until Al was stronger, so Cristian reserved another Cape May weekend for he and Jen. Meanwhile, R.J. told Lindsay that he was going to have Cristian ran out of town. In his apartment, R.J. hired a thug named Keith to take care of Cristian. He gave Keith instructions and a photograph of Cristian and Jen. Looking at the photo, Keith appeared to be fixated on Jen. Keith assured R.J. that taking care of Cristian wouldn't be a problem

Gabrielle denied to Al that she was in love with Max, but he saw through her lie and banished her from his room. An upset Gabrielle bumped into Max, who recalled she was going to tell him about some plan right before they got word of Al's accident. Gabrielle held back a confession of love when Max said that all they had was lust. Later, Asa interrupted a near thaw in Al and Max's relationship. In the hospital chapel, Gabrielle confessed everything to a priest, who advised her to abandon her plan to set up Max for murder. However, a determined Asa informed Gabrielle that he had obtained the pills that would "kill" him and frame Max and Blair for the deed.


R.J. instructed Keith on where he could find Cristian. Jessica and Seth met Cristian and Jen at the hospital to await more news about Al's condition. An unseen Keith watched Jen and Cristian as they discussed Al's feelings for Jen. Keith followed Cristian after phoning R.J. and telling him that this plan was going to be a cinch. Meanwhile, Seth was touched by Jessica's warm heart, and it was apparent that he had feelings for her. Natalie snuck into Viki's bedroom and retrieved a mystery item from one of her drawers. However, Natalie was caught by Ben, who demanded an explanation. Ben was interrupted by a call from Viki. Natalie covered by saying she was finishing up some correspondence for Viki, so Ben gave Natalie an old cell phone in order to stay in touch with Viki. Alone, Ben became suspicious when he noticed Viki's drawer was ajar. Thinking Natalie took something of hers, Ben followed Natalie down the stairs to confront her

Jessica and Seth arrived as Ben accused Natalie of stealing a piece of jewelry from Viki's drawer. However, Jessica proved Natalie's innocence by revealing that she had the bracelet in question. Embarrassed by his rash conclusion, Ben was forced to apologize to Natalie. Alone, Jessica professed to Ben her trust in Natalie. Jessica questioned Ben's behavior, and he admitted he had been a little paranoid and on edge ever since Viki's ordeal with Gina Russo and now with Allison Perkins. Meanwhile, Natalie revealed to Seth that she did indeed get something from Viki's drawer — the something they need to get everything they want.

A ski-masked Keith assaulted Cristian in the hospital garage, but Cristian managed to get the upper hand. Jen's arrival on the scene afforded Keith an escape before Cristian could find out who he was or what he wanted. Jen tended to Cristian's wounds, and the two of them were drawn closer to one another than ever. Meanwhile, R.J. revealed to Lindsay that he hired someone to "take care" of Cristian. Lindsay reiterated to R.J. that she didn't want Cristian hurt; however, all were unaware that Keith was privately gunning for Cristian

An impatient Lindsay reconnected with R.J. about getting Cristian out of town. Meanwhile, Cristian awoke from a nightmare about Keith's attack, but his mood improved when Jen stopped by with a care package. Touched by her thoughtfulness, Cristian pulled her into a kiss and their romance continued to blossom. In the park, R.J. gave Keith a copy of Cristian's schedule, saying that he wanted Vega gone by the end of the day. After R.J. departed, it was clear that Keith intended to make Cristian's trip a one-way ticket to the grave. Jen and Cristian ran into Antonio at the student union, and Cristian reluctantly agreed to let Antonio look into his mugging. Later, an unseen Keith leveled a gun at Cristian

Keith was thwarted from shooting Cristian by Jen and Antonio's return. Antonio was suspicious about the nature of Cristian's assault, so he asked him to come down the station to identify mug shots. Frustrated by his failure to shoot Cristian, Keith decided to poison his orange soda. Jen and Cristian returned to his loft to find Lindsay, who pleaded to speak with Jen. Still disgusted by her mother, Jen again rejected Lindsay. After the tense confrontation, Jen was about to drink the poisoned soda that was intended for Cristian. Alone, Keith cut up a photograph of Cristian and Jen so that only Jen remained.

Todd and Asa were ready to move ahead with their plan to frame Max for Asa's murder, but they needed to obtain Max's fingerprints on the container for Asa's medication. Privately, Gabrielle had second thoughts and struggled with what to do next. Gabrielle blanched when Todd told her that Max's wedding to Blair was off. She then wondered if that meant she and Max would have a chance to be together. Asa warned Gabrielle not to back out of the plan, and he threatened to take Al away if Gabrielle didn't move ahead against Max. Alone, Gabrielle decided she couldn't destroy Max, and instead she devised a plan to actually overdose Asa. Meanwhile, Max attempted to reach out to Al by asking if the two of them could start over again. Al rejected Max, but it was apparent that Max made an impression.

R.J. was clear with Keith that he wanted Cristian gone — not dead. However, Keith still privately had a plan of his own in mind. Antonio stopped by Cristian's loft with mug shots for Cristian to peruse in order to identify his assailant. Fortunately, Jen spilled the poisoned soda before drinking any. After Jen left to visit Al, Keith slipped in and began to strangle Cristian. Meanwhile, Jen comforted Al, but reiterated that her heart remained with Cristian.

Keith strangled Cristian from behind with a rope. Cristian struggled to get the upper hand as Keith wished out loud that Cristian had made everything easier by drinking the soda. During the brawl, Cristian managed to pull Keith's mask up to catch a glimpse of his face. Antonio's return spooked Keith into retreating. Antonio busted through the door, and Cristian revealed that someone was trying to kill him. Cristian told Antonio about the comment his attacker had made about the soda, so Antonio slipped the bottle into a plastic bag to get it tested. Cristian reeled at the thought that Jen almost drank it. Antonio and Cristian tried to figure out who was behind everything. They finally surmised that R.J. was responsible for the attack, just as R.J. appeared at the door.

Jen went to the park after receiving a message from "Cristian." Instead, Jen encountered Lindsay, who admitted that she left the message. Lindsay attempted to make amends, but Jen rejected her again. The two continued to argue as an unseen Keith lurked in the shadows.

R.J. interrupted as Antonio and Cristian speculated about R.J. being behind the attack. Following Antonio's advice, Cristian played along as R.J.'s loyal employee. Antonio took the soda bottle to be tested by forensics, and he learned that the soda was spiked with rat poison.

Cristian followed R.J. after he received a call from Keith to meet him in the park. After seeing Keith and R.J. together, Cristian alerted Antonio with the news that their suspicions were correct. Jen showed up at the loft and became worried when she discovered the damage to Cristian's door from when Antonio busted in

Cristian confronted R.J., who claimed to know nothing about the attempts on his life. Antonio interrupted and put R.J. on warning. R.J. revealed that he didn't buy their rivalry act any longer. Antonio and Cristian then accused him of hiring Keith to kill Cristian, but he denied it. Furious, Cristian wanted to squash R.J. for almost having Jen poisoned. After R.J. left, Antonio calmed an irate Cristian and persuaded him to stick to his plan if he wanted to nail R.J. Antonio revealed that he had Cristian placed under police protection, and he ordered him to lay low at his loft.

Meanwhile, in the loft, Jen prepared a surprise dinner, unaware that danger still lurked. Cristian returned to find that Jen had transformed the loft into a romantic setting with candles and flowers. With a new appreciation for the immediacy of life, Cristian began to make love to Jen. Alone, R.J. demanded that Keith lay off Cristian, but Keith had ideas of his own.

Cristian and Jen made love amid the romantic, candlelit loft. Afterwards, the two reaffirmed their love for one another and promised nothing could split them apart. Meanwhile, an unsuccessful R.J. tried to persuade Keith not to kill Cristian. Alone, Lindsay questioned R.J. after she saw that there was a cop stationed at Cristian's building. Nervous, Lindsay reiterated that she merely wanted Cristian ran out of town. R.J. assured Lindsay that Cristian would be out of their hair soon — but he left out the part about Keith going off the deep end. Cristian and Jen reveled in their afterglow as the patrolman made sure all was well in the building. After tricking the patrolman into taking off, Keith lurked outside with a gun as Cristian and Jen were about to make love again.

Jen and Cristian basked in their next-morning afterglow, unaware of the continuing danger that still loomed. Jen then accepted Cristian's invitation to move in with him. R.J. was unable to exert control over a gun-toting Keith, who revealed that Cristian was now his problem.

After Jen went to pack her belongings, R.J. arrived to speak with Cristian. Careful to not incriminate himself, he warned Cristian to get out of town for his own safety. Cristian realized that R.J.'s thug was a loose cannon, but Cristian refused to skip town. Cristian received a chilling message from Keith, who threatened to hurt Cristian in the worst possible way — by hurting Jen. Meanwhile, Keith approached Jen in the student union.

Keith threatened Jen in the message he left for Cristian, so Cristian frantically tried to locate her. Keith enlisted Jen's help in returning a lost kitten as part of his plan. When Cristian and Antonio arrived at the student union, Shawna informed them that Jen had left with a hunky guy. To Cristian's relief, Jen returned, but she was wearing a silver chain that he didn't recognize. Keith phoned Cristian and threatened Jen's life again, after revealing that he gave her the chain when he was with her earlier

An undercover cop continued to watch over Jen, as per Antonio's instructions. Cristian reiterated to Antonio that the only way to protect Jen was to break up with her. Cristian prepared himself emotionally to break Jen's heart and go into hiding, as he headed off to speak with Carlotta. In the diner, Cristian told Carlotta he was leaving for New York. A confused Carlotta believed Cristian's leaving had something to do with Jen, but he lied that it didn't. As Cristian was saying goodbye to Carlotta, Jen entered and overheard their conversation.

Cristian informed Jen that he was moving to New York, saying that it was over between them. Cristian lied to Jen that their lovemaking was nothing special, and he needed to get away from her. A shattered Jen refused to believe it, so Cristian portrayed himself as a guy who couldn't commit. Further, Cristian claimed that he felt trapped and needed to break free from her family, who would never accept him. When Jen continued to resist as she demanded the truth, Cristian told her that he didn't love her.

Cristian continued to dismantle his relationship with Jen by saying that he had been sleeping around with other girls. Cristian told Jen that Lindsay was right about him all along, and that the kiss Jen witnessed between he and Shawna was real. An unseen Keith watched as Cristian wreaked havoc on Jen with his lies that he had never loved her. After Cristian left, a shattered Jen broke down, but rejected comfort from Antonio and Carlotta. Meanwhile, Cristian barged into R.J.'s apartment, demanding payback for costing him the person who meant the most in the world to him — Jen

Cristian covered his tracks to make his lie about not loving Jen believable, thereby protecting her from Keith. Cristian paid R.J. a visit, and he demanded that R.J. protect Carlotta now that he was leaving town. Further, Cristian revealed to him that he only used Jen to get revenge on Will. R.J. became an unwitting part of Cristian's plan after he passed the information on to Keith. He told Keith that Cristian was leaving town without Jen, and Keith took the bait by making plans to follow Cristian to New York.

In the diner, Antonio lied to Jen that Cristian was indeed with another girl. When Keri arrived, she disliked Antonio's treatment of Jen and offered her some support. A distraught Jen cried on Keri's shoulder, finding more comfort from a practical stranger than her own family. After Keri left, Lindsay arrived to find Jen still reeling from her breakup with Cristian. Intent on reclaiming her daughter, Lindsay embraced Jen. Meanwhile, Antonio helped Cristian plan for his departure, as he gave him the name of a contact in the NYPD. However, the two brothers still pondered the question of who sold out Cristian to R.J

Jen thought Lindsay somehow managed to make Cristian dump her. Lindsay denied Jen's accusation, but admitted that she wasn't sorry that Jen was free of Cristian Vega. Jen confided to Lindsay what Cristian had said to her when he ended their relationship. Hurt and upset, Jen told Lindsay that she found out the truth about Cristian "too late." Lindsay tried to comfort Jen, but Jen didn't want anything to do with her mother. After Jen left, Carlotta confronted Lindsay, saying that someday Lindsay would pay for the hurt she'd wrought.

 
Cristian and Antonio tried to figure out who could have tipped off R.J. about his undercover work. Cristian revealed to Antonio that Jen was the only person who knew he was working undercover in Break Bar, but she would never have told Lindsay. Jen interrupted to confront Cristian. She threw the necklace Cristian made for her at him, and told him to never come back from New York. When Jen left, Cristian took the necklace with him as he exited with two plainclothes cops

Larry told a shocked Viki that the DNA test proved that Natalie was indeed her daughter. Initially, Viki was in denial, until Larry informed her that he performed the test three times just to be certain of the results. However, Natalie was upset when Viki was unable to share a warm reunion with her. Viki took Jessica home to make her understand that she is, and always will be, her daughter. Jessica slowly sunk into despair, as she pondered the question of exactly who she was.

Seth expressed his sympathy for Jessica, but Natalie said that Jessica would never forgive him. Natalie assured Seth that in time he would forget about Jessica, but he left to see her anyway. Later, Natalie and Allison promised that what they had in store for Viki next would hurt even more.

Todd locked Max out of the hacienda, so Max called the cops for assistance. Todd had his work cut out for him as he worked to hide the baby from Max, and to prevent Paloma from revealing the truth to Blair. Following Todd's instructions, Paloma collected the baby and brought it to a statue at the airport. Max finally entered with two cops, and Todd told the cops that the baby died. Alone, a distraught Blair revealed to Max that the baby had died, just as Paloma was about to show Blair the infant. Later at the airport, Todd frantically searched for Paloma, unaware that she was back at the hacienda.

Bo returned home, and he was surprised to find Melanie packing to leave Llanview altogether. Melanie apologized to Bo again, as she revealed that she was moving to Seattle. Lindsay interrupted and blasted Bo for the impossible expectations he held the women in his life to. Bo accused Lindsay of playing a part in the deception, but she denied it. When Bo stepped away, Lindsay and Melanie shared an emotional farewell. Afraid Jen would find out that she gave Lanie the idea to feign leukemia, Lindsay asked Melanie to lie for her. Melanie wished Bo the best and left, never implicating Lindsay in the fraud perpetrated on him.

Todd prevented Paloma from telling Max and Blair that the baby didn't die, and Todd handed over the child to a black-market dealer. Blair revealed to Max that the baby was Todd's, and she asked him not to tell Todd the truth. Blair called the hospital, hoping to arrange to see her baby.

Viki continued trying to assure Jessica that she was still her daughter. Seth did his best to apologize to Jessica, but a distraught Jessica could not get past his betrayal. Ben lashed out at Allison and Natalie for their cruel intentions, but they stuck to their plans. Later, Natalie arrived at Llanfair and shocked Viki and Ben when she announced that she was ready to move in.

Meanwhile, Sam comforted Jen after she broke down over losing Cristian.

Jen approached Shawna to uncover the truth regarding Cristian. However, Antonio enlisted both Chad and Shawna to lie about Cristian, and Jen's heart broke further.

Jen received a phone call, but the caller did not speak. Jen figured out that the silence on the other end of the phone belonged to Cristian, and she rushed to Carlotta intent on finding him in New York City. Antonio interceded, and he later warned Cristian to stop torturing Jen.

Viki was stunned to learn that Victor Lord's will allowed Natalie to live at Llanfair. Ben did his best to convince Jessica that she would always have Viki's heart, and that Viki needed her, while Viki got a shock when she glimpsed a chastising "Niki" in a mirror. Viki ordered Allison out of the house, but Allison assured Viki that she would soon return as Natalie's guest. Allison came face-to-face with Ben before leaving, while Natalie confronted Jessica.

Meanwhile, David managed to convince the nuns to hand over Blair's baby, while Todd made strides to take Blair home. However, as Todd prepared for their exodus, David arrived with the baby. Max told Al that Blair's baby died, and the two moved closer to forming a father-son bond.

Gabrielle ran to Troy with feigned concern about Asa's heart, but concern turned serious when Troy informed Gabrielle that Asa could possibly live without his medication. Asa demanded that Gabrielle move forward with their plans to frame Max, but Gabrielle ended up revealing to Max that Asa was setting him up

Meanwhile, Max reeled as Gabrielle revealed Asa's plot. Max declared his hatred for Asa, suggesting that it would serve him right to die.

Max argued with Asa, and Gabrielle feared that Max would reveal her admission to him. Later, Gabrielle pleaded her case to Max for getting Asa out of the way. Al came upon an upset Jen at the quarry, and Jen revealed that she broke up with Cristian

Asa pushed Gabrielle to move forward with their plans for framing Max, and Asa finally confronted Gabrielle about her apparent cold feet. Asa suspected Gabrielle of harboring feelings for Max, and he ultimately decided to move on to plan B and take care of Max himself. Max assured Gabrielle that he would take care of Asa, and each Gabrielle and Max had time alone by Asa's medicine cabinet. Later, Gabrielle and Max discovered Asa dead!

At school, Natalie asked Keri to call her Natalie Buchanan, hurting Jessica and angering Seth. Seth strongly suggested that Natalie hash out a financial settlement agreement with the Buchanans, and then leave Llanview. Natalie refused to do so, and Seth told her she was on her own

Max and Gabrielle reacted to Asa's sudden death. They phoned for help, and Max disappeared upstairs, while Gabrielle rifled through Asa's clothing looking for medication. Antonio and Hank arrived, and Gabrielle's panic heightened when she was introduced to the coroner. Antonio went upstairs to investigate, and he discovered Max looking through Asa's things. Antonio then found Asa's prescription bottle. Al happened upon the unfolding nightmare, and he was immediately suspicious

Bo learned that his father was dead. After Al revealed Max and Gabrielle's relationship, Bo asked them if they were having an affair. However, when Max offered his condolences, Bo quickly silenced him.

Jen and Lindsay argued, and Lindsay stepped over the line, causing a crushed Jen to run off. A guilty Lindsay answered the phone, hoping it was Jen, and she accepted a modeling offer on Jen's behalf. Jen fled to the quarry, where she ran into a devastated Al.

Al and Jen, both equally upset, ran into one another in the quarry. Al told Jen that Asa died, and Jen told Al that she cared about him. Al then kissed Jen.

Lindsay bullied Jennifer into confiding that she slept with Al. Eager to escape her overbearing mother, Jennifer planned to venture into New York for a modeling assignment. Al pressed Jennifer to soul search and suggested that she subconsciously hoped to find Cristian.

Jen volunteered to postpone her trip in order to accompany Al to his father's memorial service, but Al insisted that Jen remain on course. Unaware of Jen's intentions, Cristian planned to apply for a job at the same modeling agency

In New York City, Jen interviewed with Peg at the modeling agency, and a phone call from Cristian interrupted the meeting. Jen and Cris had a near miss at the modeling agency. Keith remained obsessed with finding Cristian, and privately vowed to go after Jen if Cristian continued to elude him.

Jen prepared for her first modeling session, and Cristian readied himself for his photographer's assistant gig at the agency. Jen and Cristian were shocked when they finally came face to face.

Gabrielle and Max remained on shaky ground as they tiptoed around the possible causes of Asa's death. Nigel admitted to Bo that he saw Gabrielle fooling with Asa's medication, and Bo continued to investigate.

Ben struggled with conflicted feelings about Asa, and Viki worried about Jessica who maintained that she needed to learn more about her biological family. Natalie creates havoc at Asa's memorial service. As a result, Viki swears that her blood relationship to Natalie will never amount to anything more, and Jessica rushes out of the ceremony. A devastated Jessica arranges to meet Clint in New York, and she sets off after leaving a note for Viki. Asa's former wives vie for supremacy and Gabrielle eventually kicks them out. Alex refuses to leave until Asa's will is read. Renee makes her opinion known to Alex that Gabrielle killed Asa. Allison celebrates the emotional turmoil caused by Natalie's performance, and a saddened Seth still yearns to reconcile with Jessica.

Asa leaves the bulk of his estate to his widow, shocking Gabrielle and casting much suspicion upon her. Max also looks suspect when Nora informs him that Asa did not have enough time to cancel Max's rights of survivorship to many of Asa's assets. Furthermore, Asa gives his mountain lodge to Bo, provided he personally inspects it within a week of his death. Natalie presumes that she is Asa's rightful heir and should receive what Asa left Jessica. Cristian interrupts the blossoming romance between Keri and Antonio with a call to his brother. Cristian intends to tell Jen the truth, but Antonio warns Cristian against it until Antonio can get to New York and help. At the modeling agency, Jen threatens her chances at a modeling career when she declines the photographer's suggestion to wear skimpy lingerie and Shawna eagerly volunteers to take Jen's place. Stress, guilt and unexpected financial gains from Asa's estate begin to turn Max and Gabrielle against each other. Bo moves forward with his investigation, and he gets frustrated when the coroner remains unable to find poison in Asa's blood samples, and when Alex volunteers her services. Keith works diligently to find Cristian, and he moves in for the kill after receiving a credible tip. Cristian comforts Jessica in New York and Jessica reveals her ordeal with Natalie. A shocked Cristian defends Seth when Jessica mentions his involvement in Allison's covert operation. Seth suggests to an unreceptive Natalie that Allison intends to profit from Natalie's association with the Buchanans, and Natalie's pool of circling sharks appears to grow when Roxanne arrives to offer her help to Natalie. However, two cops inadvertently prevent Keith from getting to Cristian, so Keith decides to focus on Jessica. Meanwhile, Jen manages to escape the photographer's advances with the help of arriving Al. Cristian also happens upon the scene, prompting Jen to kiss Al passionately

At the modeling agency, Cristian finds Jen in Al's arms and Jen insists that she has moved past romantic feelings for Cristian. Jessica blasts Seth for following her, but tempers cool, and Jessica and Seth focus on helping Cristian. Keith eavesdrops as Jessica reveals to Seth that their best bet to find Cristian lies in contacting Jen at the modeling agency

Viki rescues Blair from the closet and convinces Blair not to run off with Starr, encouraging Blair to work out her differences with Todd instead. However, Bo arrives to interrupt the upcoming reunion with news that a bottle of medication lethal to heart patients and taken out in Blair's name was found at Asa's lodge. Alex attempts to join forces with Bo to solve Asa's murder case. Alex later sneaks into Asa's bedroom. Gabrielle and Max realize that Bo tried turning them against each other, and the discovery ends up bringing the two closer together instead.

Bo probes Blair about the pills, and Blair surmises that Todd intended to set her up for Asa's murder. Bo realizes that Gabrielle is the common denominator, but Bo warns Blair not to leave town. Alex sifts through potential evidence, and finds Asa's urn. Gabrielle discovers Alex, and the two fight over Asa's ashes. Alex accuses Gabrielle of murder, and Bo later seconds Alex claim when tests come back positive for poison. Bo tells Gabrielle she's his #1 murder suspect. At Llanfair, Allison pressures Viki to sign over Jessica's legal assets to Natalie, but Natalie sides with Viki for now. Allison privately vows to go after Viki herself.
