I'm BBBBBAAAAAACCCKKKK!!

And guess who I met? Kathy and Nathan!

Well I am still on a high and severely sunburnt, but let me just say this, I am now in LOVE with Nathan!

First of all, his voice is nothing like Al's. It is like 3 octaves deeper and sexier, if that is at all possible. Maybe he was sick, but it just made me drool, hehe.

Anyway, so I met Kathy first, she was the first I went to see when I got there. Her line was really short, which surprised me, but I was glad for me because I managed to also meet Jessica Morris and Amelia Heinle since I was so close to the front in her line.

Anyway, she was in this GORGEOUS spaghetti strap dress (I will try to scan in pictures later this week) and she looked so amazing. Way thinner than she does on TV, but I like Marcie just the way she is, so it didn't matter to me. Anyway, so I get up there and she signs her picture and I tell her that Marcie/Al are the only reason I watch OLTL (which was true until Joe/Jen and Jess/Antonio started heating up). She smiles and thanks me and she says "Have you seen him today?" and I shake my head saying his line is too long. And she smiles like she's happy to hear that he's so popular. And so I took a picture and went on my merry way. Only, the minute I got out of there a bazillion more comments came up in my head like "Do you know about your online following for Marcal?" or "Do you think Marcie/Al will finally get more screentime?" and other things. Unfortunately, it was too late to say them. Sorry guys if I disappointed you. I was just so in awe to speak.

Okay, now onto the best part. So I'm standing in line to meet Catherine Hickland, but then I find out that Nathan's line is getting long, so I ditch and run over there. I get in line and the staff guy is like, "Oh, it's Q again" haha. They know me by name now! I wait for a little bit, but soon Nathan shows up in a black top and a hat. It's a really swinger-era type hat. He looked so "Al-ish". So I wait and wait since the line is long (who knew Al was so popular? Or maybe it's Nathan, haha) I just watch as he chats with people. Out of ALL the soap stars I've met, he takes the most time with each and every fan. I was looking up there and thinking "What the heck can I say to get him to smile and chat with ME for a long time?" Of course, I remember everything I did NOT say to Kathy and decide I'll say it to him instead.

Well, brain disconnected once I got up there. I say Hi and he signs the picture and I blurt out, "I love you on OLTL!" And he turns and smiles at me in a way that just made me swoon. He's like, "Wow, thank you" and he REALLY meant it. Not that I'm saying other soap stars are fake, but they didn't MEAN it like he said it. He was sincerely shocked and pleased that I liked watching him.

Then he goes on to say he loves working with Kathy (I don't think I even mentioned Marcal, which just makes it better cuz then it's sincere that he likes the story too!) and asked if I had met her. I nodded and I said she was really sweet. And he smiles the biggest smile and goes, "Yeah, isn't she the most down-to-earth person you've ever met?" I just nod stupidly, but inside I am squealing with happiness that he loves Kathy as much as I do!

So then I continue and say, "I loved your scenes with the withdrawal, it made me cry." Well that seemed to spark something because he looks back at me and he's got this stunned look on his face like he couldn't believe I just said that to him. Then he just stares silently for like forever, and finally he goes, "Thank you so much for saying that! When we do those scenes we don't really know how it comes out. That's why we go to these things to hear what the fans think." As I am melting right in front of him I manage to squeak out, "Yeah, you were brilliant in those scenes." And then he AGAIN gives me that "Oh my gosh, someone actually likes my work" kind of look. Finally I am just standing there like an idiot and so I go, "Oh, can I get a hug?" and he's like "Sure."

Then he wraps his arms around me and squeezes me so tight I thought I was gonna burst (but with happiness). I am so stunned, I don't even remember what happened after that. I just remember taking my camera back and walking off with a stupid smile on my face. LOL.

Well, that's my Marcal recap. I am on Cloud Nine. Kathy was the sweetest, most humble lady and I was so happy I met her. And Nathan, sigh, I am at a loss for words. I didn't give you everything verbatim cuz my brain was just shut off completely in his presence (thus forgetting to even mention Marcal), but he was the one person that I was glad to meet the most. He is so amazing. I can't stop gushing about him! I am shocked that HE was shocked I liked his acting.

Tomorrow I am tempted to try and meet him again, but I have so many left to see. Like Bruce Michael Hall, Alicia Minshew, Kamar and Bree. I am forcing my sister to go meet him just so she can glory in the beauty that is Nathan. LOL. I am on a complete high from that hug. I can't even describe.

Well, now that I've sufficiently shown you all what a DORK I am, I am off to write some fan fic. TTYL!

Love,
Q

Well, I am back with 3 fresh new layers of fried skin. This is not healthy, I tell ya.

Today, not so much Marcal in person. I saw them around the park, but didn't stand in line for them (since I was meeting other people). First thing, I met Mig that morning and we went to see Bree, and then went separately to other places. Well, way later, after meeting Alicia and Kamar, I ran over to watch Coffee Talk this little talk show that Linda Dano hosts at the park.

Well, it was Shanelle, Bruce, Jessica, Nathaniel and Kathy and of course, Hillary (don't know why she wasn't in the one with Bob Woods, but whatever). I only caught the last part, but here are some highlights.

When asked if they could go anywhere in the world with a fantasy person, what would they pick . . . Kathy said she'd want to go somewhere (can't remember where) with Harrison Ford. Hillary said Harrison would be busy with her so pick someone else, lol. Then Nathan was the last to answer and he said he wished he had thought up something cool like everyone else but he said he wanted to go somewhere and take his Dog. LMAO. And Shanelle goes, "Marcie better re-think her relationship." LOL.

When asked how they first got into acting, Nathan said he tried acting but didn't do so well, so he went to work at a bakery. Well, the first day some guy goes up to him and starts chatting, then give him the once over. Then Nathan joked that he was thinking, "Hey guy, what do you think you're doing?" LOL. But I kind of understand, you never know! Then the guy says he works for William Morris (I think, can't remember) and if he was interested. And that's how he got into acting. Kathy said something and my mind is drawing a blank, cuz I just want to tell you the next part, which was really great.

Well, the person that asked how they got into acting also asked if Shanelle and Kathy would sing. Shanelle sang a decent rendition of Sk8r Boi from Avril Lavigne to practically no reaction from the crowd, but when Kathy came up, she told us this cute story about how she and her family were having a bad day when she turned on the radio and Axl Rose was singing "Sweet Child of Mine" and she started imitating him. She was amazing! Then she goes to sing the actual song and I was getting chills up and down my arm. That girl belongs on Broadway (which she was, but I am happy she is now on OLTL). Anyway, the crowd clapped and cheered. She blew everyone else who sang that day (including Susan Lucci and Eden Riegel and Maximilian Alexander) out of the water. She was just, WOW. Forget AI, if Kathy was on there, she'd give Clay a run for his money. She's got a BIG voice and is so controlled. I loved it so much! I would pay to see her sing :)

Well, that's it for my Marcal stuff. Sorry so short. I would have more, but my sisters decided to stay home to do HW since they didn't finish on Saturday. *sigh* I keep reliving the whole weekend in my head. It was so great. I will try and scan pics some time this week. Plus I got to develop mine on my own roll (Disney took some for me and charged freakin' $13 a pop for a 5 by 7 not including tax!).

Thanks for the replies. You were all with me in spirit!

Love,
Q

ETA: Did I mention Nathaniel called me "Babe"? I know it didn't mean much, but it made me swoon! LOL. I know, I'm a dork.

Hey All...
--Fallingdownmig

Another Marcal lover checking in with a recap and an incredibly painful sunburn.
Q and I hooked up at the park, and we saw the same CoffeeTalk albeit from different seats so I won't cover all that again. She did it so well anyway, there's absolutely nothing I can add EXCEPT...

I was all poised to ask Kathy a question, and the Disney castmember with the microphone was sitting next to me for about 15 minutes waiting for our turn for the question and then they ended the show. <sigh> No one directly asked Kathy or Nathaniel a question either so I would have been the only one, and I was bummed. I've decided to write her and ask the question anyway because I want to know the answer :lol

Also Kathy's parents were there with her at SSW. She is a dead ringer for her mother :D

After CoffeeTalk, I headed over to Kathy Brier's autograph line because:
a.) she was the reason I went to SSW
b.) it was important to me that I at least get a chance to thank her for creating Marcie

My non-Marcie loving friend, Daphne, who knew how important it was to me actually waited at her line-up even before they opened the session, put my name down, so when I walked up there she was at the head of the line. I'm telling ya...a true friend.

So, there I am at the head of the line, and there's no backing out now and I'm also burning up cuz the sun was PAINFUL yesterday. Kathy arrived and they ushered me up there right away. I was so nervous that I wasn't even going to tell her what I wanted to, but she smiled at me and stuck out her hand and said, "Hi".

Let me just tell you...she is beautiful. Petite and not even half as big as she sometimes appears on-screen. She's also incredibly easy to talk to. It's almost like you feel you've made a new friend. Okay, I'm getting all emotional again.
Back to the recap.

I introduced myself and handed her the photo to be autographed then told her that I had heard her sing at CoffeeTalk, that she was awesome and she thanked me. I plucked up my courage and said, "Kathy, I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your comments in the on-line interview you gave regarding your body and weight." I mean… I said it fast and then I had to add because it was true, "...and I'm going to start crying any minute."

She looked at me, touched my arm, and said, "Don't cry." To which I then began to cry :loland I put my sunglasses back on. So she told me that she had struggled for a long time with her weight, she repeated what she said in the interview about being a size 6 and a size 16, and she told me that it took a long time for her to get to the place she's at now where she was happy with herself.

I, of course, am now bawling, but I was trying to hide it. I choked out something about how I've struggled for almost all my life with accepting what I look like and how much I weigh. Kathy said, "It takes a long time, but if you work at it. You'll get there." (and I'm crying right now writing this out...it was very emotional for me) Then she looked me up and down and said, "You have a beautiful body. You're a beautiful woman. Be proud of that." I think I must've said thank you, but who knows I was so needing a hug at that point. She took my photograph and the pen again, and said, "What was your name again?" and when I told her she said all cute-like, "You have a beautiful name too."

We took a photo, and I thanked her and never really got a chance to tell her how much I love her portrayal or her talent, but maybe another time. She really is someone special, and I'll never be able to thank her enough for saying those things to me.

<wiping my eyes, blowing my nose>

SO...I then went to Nathaniel Marston's line and let me tell you what...that guy talks more than Kamar de Los Reyes LOL He spends at a minimum 7 minutes with each fan. His line took forever, but it was worth it. I watched him interact with everyone, and he had a smile and a hug if you wanted it for everyone.  And the one thing that he did that was a bit different was stand up for every picture. Almost all of the others with the exception of Catherine Hickland stayed seated.

After about 45 minutes, I got up there and, guys, I had to be honest LOL I also went for a hug too cuz, well, as stated above, I needed one and you know...the dude is HOTTER in person.

Anyway, he sat down and began to write out my name, etc. I told him that I hadn't been a big fan of his character until the drug addiction, withdrawal, and the friendship with Marcie. Of course, then he looked at me like I was crazy LOL He's just staring quizzically and I finish with a flourish by saying, "I never noticed just how talented an actor you are until this storyline began, and you really are...incredibly talented."

Then I had him ;)

So we chatted about the writers and the storyline. Once he finished autographing my picture he pulled Kathy Brier's out from under his (it was my signed copy that was underneath) and he used his pen to point at her picture and he said, <drumroll please>

"It's all because of her. She and I are going to be great, but it's her."

Isn't that so cool? It made the long line, my drooping blood sugar levels, and almost fainting in his line all worth it.

I also told him that I represented a large contingent of Marcie and Al lovers and that there are boards existing and starting in devotion to the two of them. He asked the name of the website, and I told him, but I had to explain what Marcal meant.

THEN, we took a photograph and he's sooooo tall that when he stood up and wrapped his arms around me I swear to GAWD it felt like I was 22 again and taking a photograph with my 6'3 boyfriend. I'm 5'9 so it's always a delight to be hugged by a tall man ;)So right before the picture is taken I think "I'm so going for this.", and I put my right palm on his chest :lol

Q saw me… she'll verify. I was cracking myself up afterwards. He really is more handsome than I had previously thought, and I have a newfound respect for his arms and his eminent HOTNESS.

I almost forgot one thing:

At the end of the each CoffeeTalk session they showed exclusive for you the audience only previews of the upcoming week. It was the same clip from the Kamar, Bree, Sheri, Ilene, Melissa, and David show I had seen earlier, but, in that audience, I was the only one who screamed when they showed Marcie and Al.

In this audience, the clip aired, and a large majority of the audience screamed. I was watching Kathy and Nathaniel on stage, and, when the screams happened, the two of them turned from looking up at the screen to looking at each other. They smiled at each other like "Yeah!"

It was very very cool.

I have pictures but have to get them developed so it'll be Wed. before I get them posted. If any of you ever have a chance to meet either of them I highly recommend it because they are two incredibly special people.

OH! One more thing...the clip that they aired for this week was this:
**SPOILER**
*
*
*
*
*
Max and Gabrielle standing next to each other at the LPD station. Max says, "You've been a good friend, Marcie."
Al and Marcie are standing next to each other across from them. Al wraps his right arm around Marcie's shoulders and says, "Actually, Dad, Marcie and I are dating."

OH..and I met a girl in a line who got to act a scene against NM at The Casting Call show. She played Marcie, and she showed me what she read, and she gave me details. I don't know if this is what we have in store for us, but the scene was Al coming to see Marcie really late at night.
(this was in the script that she showed me, and I'm paraphrasing because I didn't get a chance to copy it all down)

Marcie: It's really late, Al, did you need something?
Al: I was hoping we could spend some time together
Marcie: Oh, okay. Do you want to talk?
Al: That's not what I had in mind
(moving closer to her)
Marcie: Do you want to play a board game?
Al: I didn't have THAT in mind either.
(moving even closer)
Then Marcie said something kinda in a nervous way, and Al leaned in and kissed her.

The girl who acted the part of Marcie said it was a lot of fun. After, they kissed, she said to him, "I'm glad my husband isn't here." :lol

Okay. I think I've covered everything Marcal. I'm sorry it took me so long, but I'm in a lot of pain (sunburn) today.

I loved SSW. I loved NM, and I think I'll love Kathy Brier the person forever. It was a really unique and unforgettable experience.

Mig

Mig, Wow, you didn't tell me some of that stuff.
--Starresky

Although I did overhear that comment about him dating and a scream while I was waiting for Kendall from AMC. Was that you, girl? LOL.

As for that Casting Call script, those generally don't play out, but I wish it did. Haha and they usually end with the actor somehow kissing the girl who wins the scene with him. It's funny how they don't ever have girls doing that. LOL. You would think how soaps are written, they are hoping for a male audience!

And yes, I can testify to the contact between Nathan and Mig. Although, I dunno what people call him. I just said, "Hi." I type Nathan cuz it's shorter, but not really sure about "Nate". Anyway, I forgot, they did this question at the Coffee Talk asking what their most embarrassing moment was. Anyway, Kathy said she didn't have one since she was so new. Well Bruce starts saying something or waving at her and saying something about a park. And she goes, "Oh! Yeah, I do have one. Then she goes, I was supposed to do a kissing scene with Joey and before rehearsals Bruce came up to me and goes, 'How you doing? You wanna practice?' and she said she ran away and started screaming 'Get away from me! Go away!'" LOL. It was hilarious and had the whole audience rolling. Then Bruce added that it was her first on-screen kiss and he wanted to make her comfortable, lol.

Then after Kathy told her story, Nathan goes, "OH! Now I remember mine!" and the whole audience started to laugh. He said his was . . . ack I can't remember now. Mig, help me! What was it?

Love,
Q

Anyway...his most embarrassing moment was...
--Fallingdownmig

oversleeping during Live Week.

He said he's a really deep sleeper and will sleep through most anything. The whole panel started to nod their heads like they already know this. It was Live Week (last year), and he slept through his alarm. They sent an assoc. producer to his HOME to wake him up. He opens the door and says to the guy, "What are you doing here?" The producer says, "You're two hours later for work!"

Then Hilary B. Smith said that James and Kassie De Paiva (who have a son that's hard of hearing) bought him an alarm clock for the hearing impaired, and he still sleeps through it. He agreed that it was true and said his roommate comes in...hits him then runs out of the bedroom.

And I'd totally forgotten Kathy's embarrassing moment. You guys had to hear her voice when she said, I told him "Get away, Bruce. Go away".
BTW...Bruce Michael Hall was hysterical.

Q, you should tell them what he said about the scenes with Jenn and the underwear

Mig

Mig, you tempted me so now I will go off topic...
--Starresky

and spread some JOEN lovin'.

Well, as you all know, I love Jen/Joey, so I met both of them. First I met Jessica Morris on Saturday. She had a really short line when I got there cuz it was at the end of her signing. Well I go up, tell her my name (and she says it's cool and it's easy) and I tell her I love Jen/Joey. She smiles and says, "I love working with him." Hehe. Then I thank her and leave. Real short encounter, but I think she was they shyest of all the people I met over the weekend. She seems so amazed that she has fans. I think she is the most innocent/ignorant/naive about fans, haha!

Well, if you can see a trend coming if you've read all my recaps for all my fave couples or non-couples, I ramble on when it comes to the actors. I finally caught Bruce in his last signing (he kept leaving right before I showed up all weekend, I think he knew I was coming!). So when my face was the brightest red it could possibly be, that's when I met him. I walk up to see him, and he says "Hi" and then points to the man holding this huge bright light at us and he goes, "That light's for you." Thud. Then I laugh and introduce myself, and I blurt out, "I told Jessica yesterday that I love Jen and Joey's storyline." He laughs and goes, "I love Jen and Joey's storyline too cuz I get to be in my underwear." I was shocked to say the least and then laughed about it later.

When he's done, I ask him to sign a picture for my friend and he goes, "Where is she? I bet she's in line to meet Antonio, right?" and I laughed and said she's not in the park at all. Then he smiles, I ask for a hug, he gives me one and I leave. He is by far the friendliest and funniest guy I have ever met. Loved him. (Though his hug wasn't as yummy as Nathaniel's squeeze-the-life-out-of-them hugs)

That's it, wow, happy to vent somewhere about that!

Love,
Q
