JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO FORGET ...

RANDY

WHERE WE'VE BEEN...

Actually before the end of Teaser, Randy had embarked on a side project intent on releasing a solo album. This new group was called Randy Couch And The Last Rock And Roll Band. Having already recorded the material for the album, aptly titled Randy Couch And The Last Rock And Roll Band, he quickly sent it to press and shot the cover photos preparing for an immediate release to the adoring hoards of fans. However, all was not to go as planned.

At the "eleventh hour", only minutes before a press conference to announce the release, Randy learned that the record company had pulled all distribution of the album due to a copyright lawsuit against the band by another band named The Last Rock And Roll Band.

Not to be thwarted, Randy changed the name of the band to Randy Couch And The Second to Last Rock And Roll Band only to be sued by another band claiming to be The Second to Last Rock And Roll Band.

Down, but not out, Randy once again changed the name of the band. This time he chose something with a deeper, more philosophical meaning; Randy Couch And The Ottomans. Following this name change, he was sued by the country of Turkey because the Turkish Government felt that the name was a slight to their historical ancestors, The Ottoman Turks.

Discouraged by these turns of events, He decided to plainly name the band Randy Couch, after which he promptly sued himself. After a lengthy, and sometimes painful court battle, Randy finally settled out of court with himself for an undisclosed amount of money and publishing rights.

With the legal difficulties behind him, Randy finally re-packaged the previously shelved Randy Couch And The Last Rock And Roll Band recordings, and issued forth with Me Unreleased. Finally, the world would hear! The Puxatawney Herald reviewed Unreleased with seven words..."And God said, let there be Couch!"

Putting his musical aspirations aside, Randy decided to pursue scholarly interests, attending college, and graduating with honors, in degrees of Aquatic Psychology and Musical History.

Following his graduation, Randy spent two years, researching and writing his first book, Spoons, the unauthorized autobiography of the legendary blind and deaf blues spoon player, Elmo "Spoons" Johnson (fourth cousin, twice removed of the also legendary blues man Robert Johnson).

Spoons received rave reviews, and was twice picked as "Book of The Month" by the Book Of The Month Club Of Grenada.

One reviewer was quoted ..."If Beethoven would have been able to know the "Spoons" Johnson that Mr. Couch has acquainted to us, music today would truly be a remarkable thing to behold." (The Paraguay Sun Times Gazette)

Continuing his writing, Randy published several highly regarded papers in scholarly journals, notably, the 1256 page essay Sex, Drugs, Rock And Roll, And More Sex (Sometimes) ... Bourbon, and it's effect on 20th Century Music.

Today, Randy is teaching a course of his own making, The History Of Circus Music And Military Campaigns at a local college.

Musically, Professor Couch tours extensively with his traveling road show Randy's Paper And Comb Kazoo Pharos Do Jimi Hendrix.
