2004 Seattle Stallions
Congratulations to the Seattle Stallions for setting a new all-time single season team scoring record. The final tally came to 1,346 points.
The Seattle Stallions set the record when they blew away the SHARK 142 to 93 in week 12, knocking Priest Point out of the running for a playoff berth. This marks the first time in PSFFL league history that the SHARK will not make the playoffs. A streak of 14 straight playoff appearances is over. The Stallions have been running up the score on the PSFFL all season long, and in a year when the scoring system was decreased for RB’s and WR’s. The new All-time single season team scoring record of 1, 346 points seems even more impressive than any that have come before it in this category. The old mark of 1,340 points was set last season by the Untouchables when they broke their own record from the previous year of 1,102 points. The fact that this record was set under a decreased scoring system with one more week to go is a remarkable accomplishment. This is not the first time that Stallions owner Steve Giles has guided his franchise into the record books. Nor is it the first time his Stallions have made the playoffs while competing for a division championship. However, after a few down years during which he took a lot of grief from a few of our less than sportsmanlike owners. He has risen back to the top and surpassed his best efforts of seasons past. From where I sit, this is a great story that can only come from a fierce competitor, with a love for the game we play, and the league in which we play it. As a very funny man once said “ I tell ya, I tell ya, I never get no respect, just once, can’t somebody, just gimme on a deeze?” Stevie G, you’re OKAY!
