Objectives:

1 - Project the following pictures and ask the students to identify them, observe the difference between them and interpret them.

2 - Research

a) Ask students to fill in the vocabulary web using the thesaurus/synonym dictionary so as to get the exact meaning of the following words:

logo, symbol, sign, insignia, emblem, badge, label

b) Ask students to find an example of each on the web (or project the ones below), save and print them and explain when/how/when/why they are used.

c) What are logos and what is their function?

d) What are brand names? Ask stds to find in the thesaurus the meaning and synonyms of the verb "to brand". In which context can it be used? You may want to direct your students to this concept map.
